Confusion and chaos are increasing with every passing day as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are yet to announce the Class 10 and 12 board exam results for the academic year 2020-21. While the results were expected to come out in the second week of July 2021, CBSE recently extended the deadline for moderation from July 21 to July 25, 2021. Therefore, there are bleak chances of results getting announced anytime soon.
To express their confusion, students took to Twitter in the last few days to express their thoughts. While most students are complaining about the delay, few others are criticising the board’s decision of conducting board exams for private students. With no tentative result schedule being announced, CBSE results in 2021 are most likely to release in August 2021.
Confusion galore among students, parents and stakeholders
Students have been incessantly tweeting on the popular social media platform to express their concerns using the hashtags #CBSEResults, #CBSE10Results and #CBSE12Results. The primary confusion is the different claims and reports being released on social media and news portals. While some reports claimed that results will be announced on July 21, 2021, others claimed the result date to be July 23, 2021. Few others stated that results may get delayed to August 2021. Moreover, while CBSE has extended the deadline for moderation, they haven’t specified a tentative deadline to announce the results. Both these reasons have contributed to the turmoil of students.
A small chunk of students is also complaining about CBSE’s decision about private candidates. Due to inadequate data, such students will have no choice but to give full-fledged written exams. Students stated that private students can be evaluated based on internal assessments and practical exams, as in done by various boards. However, this data may not be adequate enough to evaluate private students fairly. While this is just an assumption, CBSE is yet to respond to these comments.
Here’s what we know so far about CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams 2021 results:
Earlier, reports by reputed news agencies claimed that the CBSE Class 10 and 12 results in 2021 are likely to release on July 21, 2021. However, the contrary occurred. In fact, CBSE decided to extend the deadline to finalise the Class 12 results from July 22 to July 25, 2021, up to 5:00 pm. Thereafter, results will be announced later for schools who submit their reports after this deadline.
CBSE has also changed their decision about Class 10 and 12 private category students. Accordingly, owing to a lack of records and required data, the alternative objective criteria is difficult to implement for such students. Therefore, conventional board exams will be conducted for private category students. These exams will be held from August 16 to September 15, 2021. Results for the same will be announced subsequently, as early as possible. While the timeline is certain, more details on the same are awaited.
To assist schools in their work and to meet the deadline, CBSE regional offices and the exam department at the headquarters shall remain operational from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Previously, CBSE had stated that Class 10 results 2021 shall be announced latest by July 15, 2021. However, when the deadline was not met, board officials reasoned that the delay happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a board official, the current circumstances are unprecedented and difficult. Furthermore, the process of determining results is long and new for all affiliated schools. In light of this, authorities have not decided on a result date yet.
As of now, CBSE has not yet provided an exact or tentative date to announce the Class 10 and 12 board exam 2021 results. According to the UGC guidelines, all boards must announce their results by July 31, 2021. However, with this incessant delay, students are expecting the results to come out in August 2021.
