The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will be conducting the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 on November 28, 2021 (Sunday). For this, the official body has also released CAT 2021 notification on the website, iimcat.ac.in. As per the notification, CAT 2021 registration shall commence from August 04, 2021. Aspirants willing to take admission in IIMs and other top B-schools in the country can apply before September 15, 2021.
Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national level entrance examination to admission into some of the top management institutes of the Indian Institute of Management. IIM Ahmedabad has designated the position of coordinating IIM for CAT 2021 exam. Those who clear CAT 2021 exam can apply for MBA, PGP in Management, Doctoral Program in Management.
To be eligible for the examination, aspirants need to fulfil the CAT eligibility criteria. They must have passed/appearing in the bachelor’s degree to apply for CAT. Those who have completed a professional degree (CA / CS / ICWA) can also apply. Aspirants must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying degree exam (45% for SC/ ST PwD candidates).
Eligible candidates can register themselves for the CAT exam through iimcat.ac.in. They will get the direct link to register for the exam on the homescreen only with “CAT 2021 Registration”. While candidates are submitting the CAT application form 2021, they are suggested to note down the user id and password. As these credentials are crucial at each stage of the entrace test, aspirants are advised to keep the login details safe.
Moreover, there is also an application/registration fee for the CAT exam. For General/ EWS/ OBC-NC candidates, the application fee is Rs. 2200/- whereas, SC/ ST/ PWD candidates are required to pay Rs. 1100/- as the application fee. A candidate needs to pay the registration fee only once irrespective of the number of IIMs they are applying for.
At the time of registration, aspirants are asked to enter six test centres as their preference for the exam. After the last date of registration, candidates will be allocated one out of the six preferred centres. The CAT 2021 admit card will be available from October 27, 2021 onwards until the day of the exam.
The exam will be conducted in November 2021 at a centre spread across around 158 test cities. The CAT 2021 scorecards will be available after the exam on the CAT website. It is likely that CAT results will be out by the second week of January 2022.
