IIM Ahmedabad, convenor of CAT 2021 has released a press release with the statistics of the Common Admission Test (CAT) today. CAT 2021 was conducted on November 28, 2021, in three shifts respectively across India. As per the notice, the entrance exam was held at 438 test centers situated in 156 cities in different states.
As per statistics, 229969 candidates have applied for the examination, 191660 candidates went to take up the test and 38309 candidates did not turn up for the examination. Candidates can check out the shift wise students statistics table in the space below:

Out of all the candidates, 35% were Females, 65% Males, and only 2 candidates from the transgender community. The overall attendance for the CAT 2021 was 83.34%.
The authorities have conducted the CAT examination in the online mode by collaborating with TCS. As per the candidates who have appeared for the examination, the overall difficulty level can be ascertained at a moderate level. This year the convenor has reduced the total number of questions to 66.
On the basis of the previous year’s statistics, the result for CAT 2021 can be released on January 01 to 02, 2021. Top IIM colleges have also released the category-wise percentile for final admission. As of now, several educators have released the tentative answer key for the examination on various media platforms. It is assumed that the final authorities will release the official CAT answer key 2021 in the upcoming 5 to 10 days from the day of examination.
Leading reports suggest that the CAT Answer key 2021 can be released between December 05 to 12, 2021. Once the same is out, candidates can use it to deuce the probable marks scored in the IIM CAT 2021 exam. Only those candidates who score percentile more or equivalent to the one released by different IIM colleges will stand to get admission in different courses. The complete counseling schedule will be released after the result is released by the authorities.
