CAT 2018 Topper Mayur Arora Qualified with 99.88 Percentile; Wants to Work in Product Management Role

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has released CAT 2018 Result today i.e. on January 05, 2019 at 10:00. The candidates can check the result by submitting the registration number and password. The exam was held on November 25, 2018.

Mayur Arora is one of the candidates who got more than 99 percentile in CAT 2018 and qualified the exam with flying colours. He obtained a total of 99.88 percentile. The student is from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh and is a software engineer. Currently, he is working in Dell EMC, Bangaluru, India.

The scaled score of the candidate is 69.18 and the percentile is 97.75 in the section Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. In the section, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, the scaled score is 50.91 and the percentile is 99.59. The student obtained 68.34 scaled score and 99.83 percentile in the Quantitative Ability. So, his overall scaled score is 188.43while the percentile is 99.88.

Congratulations to Mayur Arora. Obtaining 99.88 percentile in CAT 2018 is a great achievement.

In an interview, when he was asked about the preparation tips and the ideal time to cover the syllabus. So, he replied that he started his preparations in the month of July. He had given 15-20 mocks tests. According to him, 6 months are more than sufficient to study all the concepts.

He made his preparation strategy earlier. So, he was more clear about the basic formulas. This helped him a lot.

He has applied for all the top-ranked colleges like IIMs, FMS, MDI, XLRI, SPJIMR.

He also gave his message to CAT aspirants “Never lose hope. It is going to be a very long journey and often, people lose hope. But please keep faith and keep working hard till you succeed”.

In the previous year, there were 20 candidates who got 100 percentile. There were two female candidates in the list and 18 male candidates. The non-engineers candidates were three in numbers. Last year, more students were from small towns and proved themselves that they are not beneath from others.

In 2016, the number of candidates who obtained 100 percentile was also the same i.e. 20. However, the list of the top 20 candidates contained only male candidates. There were no female candidates who obtained 100 percentile.

On January 01, 2018, the result for CAT 2018 was leaked. The students were able to see their scorecards. But IIM Calcutta denied that the result was available. In the next day, IIM Calcutta released the result declaration date. However, the scores of the candidates are same what they had seen on Janaury 01, 2019.

CAT 2018 Result contains the contact details of the candidates, name, town/ city, district, state, email id, registration number, gender, date of birth, scaled scores in VARC, DILR and QA. Also, the overall scaled scores and the overall percentile.
