CAT 2018 Result date has been announced by IIM Calcutta. The result will be declared on January 05, 2019, at 01:00 PM onwards. The result of CAT will publish on the official website at iimcat.ac.in. Looking at the previous year trends, the result was likely to release in the second week of January 2019. However, it is releasing earlier than the expected schedule.

Previously, there was news circulating in the social media that the exam result has been announced. Due to this fiasco, candidates were confused whether the result has been actually announced or not. So, to clear the doubts of the eager CAT test takers, exam conducting body has release the official announcement for CAT result date.
The CAT 2018 Result releases at the iimcat.ac.in. Candidates will able to download the result using the registration number and password. Currently, the login at the official website is not working. IIM Lucknow will also send the Result update on the registered mobile number. There may be a time lapse between the result declaration on the website and receiving it on the phone.
Once the CAT 2018 Result is available, candidates may also find a difference in their raw scores and scaled scores. As IIMs uses the process of normalization, the scores are adjusted by considering the various factors like location, difficulty across two slots, the number of test takers etc. IIMs also does not reveal the exact normalization nor the actual raw scores of the candidates.
Just after the CAT Result, IIMs will start releasing the shortlist on their official website. Candidates clearing the cut-off and other prescribed criteria by IIMs will get intimation for the next round. The selection process generally includes Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). Also, the admission process for Non-IIMs and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will also start. Candidates must check their official website for the latest updates.
This year, 2.09 lakh candidates appeared for CAT 2018, making it an only year where candidates appearing for CAT crosses 2 Lakh. Last year, 20 candidates including 2 females and 3 non-engineers scored 100% percentile. As IIMs are quite enthusiastic to promote gender and academic diversity, it will be great if the number of females and the non-engineers number increased in top percentilers.
Even this year, the number of girl candidates taking entrance test increased by 50% as compared to last 5 year. Also this year, IIM Kozhikode plans to create additional 60 seats for PGP programme exclusively for women candidates.
