Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is releasing the CAT 2018 Answer Key in next one or two weeks. It will be available on the official website at iimcat.ac.in. According to prestigious daily, the exam conducting body is in process of releasing the CAT answer key. If it does not release next week then there are high chances that answer key will release in the second week of December 2018.
Last year, the answer key was released on December 07, post 10 days of the examination. So, this year it might release around the same time period. IIMs generally does not intimate or publish a notification regarding answer key on the official website. So, candidates must keep checking the student dashboard using the CAT 2018 login.
Unexpectedly, this year exam conducting body released the response sheet of candidates on November 30, 2018. No notification regarding this was published on the official website. This is the first time that candidates’ response has been released, even last year only answer key was released not the individual correct responses.
Since the response sheet has already been released, IIM-C may publish the official CAT 2018 Answer Key either on website main page or at the candidates’ login. With the availability of answer key and response sheet, candidates could able to correctly calculate their scores. It would help to predict the percentile that could be achieved in the exam this year. Candidates’ actual score may vary from the scaled score that will be present on the result.
IIMs uses the process of Normalization by considering the factors like location, distribution of marks, difficulty level etc. So, candidates must expect the scaled score different from the actual score. The result for the exam is expected to release in the second week of January 2019. Following that candidates will able to participate in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview if they will be shortlisted by a particular institute.
With the CAT 2018 question paper available, many unofficial sources has also released the answers keys on their website. Candidates can refer to these keys in order to crosscheck the responses marked by them. Still, test takers must wait for the official answer key to release. In case, students find errors in the key then they will able to challenge the same. For each doubt, candidates may have to pay an amount of Rs 1000/- per question. Once the objection raising window closes, the thorough analysis of doubts will be done to announce the final decision. For the valid doubts, the objection fee will be refunded and no more queries will be entertained thereafter.
