CAT 2018 Mock Test has been available on the official website. The link was activated today on October 17, 2018. Candidates can take the mock test to get adapted to the exam environment. There are two links available on the website, the second one for the PWD candidates with low vision.
IIM Calcutta has also released the Mock test guideline PDF which will help the students to access the mock test easily. The practice paper will help the test takers to get familiar with the computer-based test to be held on November 25, 2018, in two sessions. Candidates are advised to read the test instructions and procedures properly.
SNAP Registration Open: Register Before 26 Nov
Students after accessing the mock links need to enter the registration number and password to sign in. Only candidates who have registered successfully will able to take the mock test. After the login process, read the General Instructions carefully regarding how to access the features of the test window.
In the CAT 2018 Exam, all the questions are either MCQ or Non-MCQ based questions. The exam is divided into three sections comprising of Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Each question in the exam carries 3 marks. For Non- MCQ questions there is no negative marking whereas, for MCQ based questions, there is a negative marking of -1 marks.
Once candidates click on “I am Ready to Begin”, then they will see the first question of the Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability section. Only after the completion of one section of 60 minutes, candidates will able to attempt the next section.
Features available on the cat test window
In the test window, students can use the calculator available on the top right hand of the screen, the timer just below the calculator, question palette etc. Candidates can navigate to any questions after clicking the question number on the palette. It is important to click on “Save and Next” to save the answers before moving to other question.
The CAT 2018 Mock Test will available until the exam day. Candidates can use the facility anytime. The test is not to judge the exam preparation of a student nor it particularly defines the number or type of questions that will appear in the actual test.
Since the mock test available, candidates will able to download the CAT 2018 admit card from October 24, 2018, 1:00 PM onwards. The release of the hall ticket may or not get delayed by a few days. Still whenever it is available candidates must download it as soon as possible. Check the registration details, test venue, and timings carefully in the admit card. If there is an error, contact the CAT officials immediately.
