Recently, The Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) has released exam dates for foundation, intermediate, final and international taxation assessment test for the May 2019 session on icai.org. Candidates, appearing either under new or old scheme can check the dates and start preparing accordingly!
While foundation paper will be held for 3 hours (for Paper 1 and 2) and 2 hours (for Paper 3 and 4), intermediate exam, under old and new scheme will be held for 3 hours each. Whereas International Taxation – Assessment Test will be conducted for 3 hours, on the other hand, the final exam is conducted for 3 hours (under old scheme) and 4 hours for Paper 6 (under new scheme). Additional 3 hours are given to attempt Paper 1 to 5 and Paper 7 & 8 (under new scheme).
The application process for Foundation, Intermediate and Final Courses is set to commence from February 20, 2019 onward over the official website ICAI. Whereas the last date to submit the online applications for any of these exam is March 12, 2019.
Candidates need to clear Foundation level in order to pursue Intermediate and finally, Final level of CA exam. To appear for initial level i.e the CA Foundation level, a candidate needs to get themselves registered with the Board of Studies (BoS) by paying a fee of Rs. 9, 800 in online mode.
ICAI will be conducting these 3 level of CA exams across 193 test centers in India and 5 centers abroad. A candidate opting to appear for Foundation level needs to attempt 4 papers in offline mode, having subjective and objective questions of 100 marks each.
CA IPCC 2019 will be conducted for a total of 7 subjects, for which a candidate can choose to appear as per the existing or new scheme. Each of these 7 papers shall be of 100 marks each. CA Final 2019 paper is divided into 2 groups of 400 marks, each, as per revised and existing schemes.
After having appeared for any of the CA Exams, a candidate can check whether they had met the cut off marks, once the ICAI releases its over icaiexam.icai.org. To qualify for this exam, a candidate needs 50% in average and 40% in each of the papers appeared for. Once the ICAI declares CA 2019 Result for May exam, the Institute also releases the merit list for the top 50th candidates.
