The Institute of Chartered Accountant India (ICAI) has released the schedule of CA Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) for June 2018. As per the schedule, the online form filling will start from April 04, 2018 and the last date to apply will be April 26, 2018. Candidates need to complete the registration process, along with the payment of the fees during this time at http://www.icai.org. However, after the last date candidates can still apply but with a late fee of Rs. 600/-. The registration window will close on May 03, 2018.
The Registration Fee that the candidates need to pay is Rs. 1000/- for centres in India, Rs. 1700/- for centres in Kathmandu (Nepal) and $300/- for centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai & Muscat.
Before starting the registration process, the Institute advice the candidates to go through the eligibility criteria.
The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to students registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the Common Proficiency Course and fulfill the requisite eligibility conditions.
CA CPT June 2018, will be held across 196 centres across the nation and at 5 overseas centres. The examination will be conducted in two sessions – Morning Session from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM and Afternoon Session from 2 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, June 17, 2018.
ICAI will conduct the examination by diving it into two sessions. Morning Session – Fundamentals of Accounting & Mercantile Laws and in the Afternoon Session- General Economics & Quantitative Aptitude. The question paper for this examination will have objective type multiple choice questions. The option to select Hindi medium of the question paper will be also provided to the candidates.
The marks distribution of the examination has been decided as Fundamentals of Accounting- 60, Mercantile Laws- 40, General Economics- 50 and Quantitative Aptitude- 50. The total marks of the examination being 200.
CA CPT is an entry-level examination for the candidates who wish to take CA as their career. The ICAI ensures the calibre of the students is put in the right direction based on this examination. The standard of the examination is entitled to bring out the excellence of the aspiring CA candidates.
