Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has extended the cut off date for having completed graduation in order to be eligible for Bihar Police Sub Inspector recruitment 2019. Now the cut off date is August 1, 2019. Earlier it was January 1, 2019. Candidates who have completed graduation from a recognized institute by the cut off date are now eligible for the daroga bharti.
Last Wednesday, BPSSC published notification for Bihar Police SI recruitment 2019, inviting applications for 2,446 vacancies. A number of candidates were disheartened to see that only those who had graduated by the first of January of this year only can apply. As per reports, almost 3 lakh otherwise eligible candidates could not apply because of the previous rule.
The biggest concern was raised by students of Magadh University. In the university, the 2015-2018 batch students got their final results in February 2019. As a result, they became ineligible for this very important recruitment of the state. For no fault of their own, because the university had delayed the results, the graduate candidates looking forward to have a career in the Bihar Police, were denied entry.
In response to the concerns raised by various quarters, BPSSC finally decided to take action and change the cut off date. The notice released yesterday to extend cut off date says that after due deliberation, the commission has decided to extend the cut off so that all those candidates can fill online application form who could not do so before.
However it is important to note that last date to submit online application form for Bihar Police SI 2019 remains the same, it is September 25, 2019. The number of vacancies are also unchanged. There are 2,064 vacancies for police sub inspector, 215 for sergeant, 125 vacancies for assistant superintendent jail, and 42 for assistant superintendent jail Ex-S.
Selection process comprises of preliminary exam, mains exam. Bihar police SI prelims will be a two hour long exam with 100 questions of 200 marks. There will be general knowledge and current affairs. Minimum qualifying marks will be 30%. However only as many number of candidates as equal to 20 times the number of vacancies, that is 48,920, will be qualified for mains exam on basis of prelims.
Besides the cut off date for graduation, the cut off date for age limit remains the same that is January 1, 2019. General candidates should be between 20 to 37 years old. Backward class and extremely backward class aspirants should be between 20 to 40 years old. Age limit for female candidates from unreserved, BC, EBC is 20 to 40 years. SC, ST male and female candidates are required to be between 20 to 42 years old.
BPSSC invites applications from candidates, who satisfy the new eligibility criteria, for Bihar Police SI recruitment 2019 at bpssc.bih.nic.in. Details of the advertisement 01/2019 shall remain unchanged besides the graduation cut off date extension.
