Bihar Public Service Commission has released the official notification for recruitment of Assistant Professors in Electrical Engineering in Government Engineering colleges. A total of 287 vacancies are advertised for the 2020 recruitment through Advertisement No. 11/2020. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online at the website of the Commission i.e. bpsc.bih.nic.in before the last date. The online registration process is commencing on July 13, 2020 and candidates can register till July 30, 2020. The last date of submitting online application form is August 14, 2020 while the last date of payment of application fees online is August 07, 2020. The last date of receipt of hard copies of the application form along with the copies of specified documents is August 24, 2020 till 5.00 PM.
96 out of the 287 advertised vacancies are reserved for female candidates in different categories. The detailed category-wise vacancy bifurcation is indicated in the official advertisement. There are 116 vacancies for Unreserved categories. 29 vacancies are for EWS candidates. SC and ST candidates have 45 and 03 vacancies respectively reserved for them while there are 50 vacancies for candidates of Extremely Back Classes category. There are 35 vacancies for Backward Class candidates and 09 vacancies for Backward Class (Female) candidates.
Candidates having a B.E/B. Tech/B.S/B.Sc.Engineering and M.E/M. Tech/M.S or integrated M. Tech in Electrical Engineering in first class are eligible to apply for the recruitment. Candidates who have AMIE (Section A & B) qualification who have Enrollment with permanent recognition till 31.05.2013 are also eligible to apply for the recruitment. Applicants must have attained the age of 22 years as on 01.06.2020. The upper age limit is 65 years.
Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Pay Level 10 for a payment of Rs 57,700 in the aforementioned vacancies. The selection of candidates is to be done through written test and merit. A total weightage of 100 marks is distributed across merit parameters and written exam. Weightage of 20 marks in total is allocated to marks obtained in Master’s degree (10), Bachelor’s degree (5), and Ph. D (5). The total weightage of marks allocated to the written exam is 40. The written exam is based on the syllabus of GATE exam and the question paper consists of 80 objective type questions which must be completed within the duration of 02 hours. 25 weightage of marks are allocated to the experience of candidates on the post of Assistant Professor under the Department of Science & Technology at the rate if 5 marks per year. The rest of the 15 marks weightage is allocated to the performance of the candidates in the final interview.
Candidates possessing the specified minimum eligibility conditions can apply online at the official website as stated before. An application fee of RS 750 must be paid by Unreserved candidates. SC/ST candidates of Bihar have to pay a fee of RS 200. Similarly, female candidates domiciled in the state of Bihar have to pay a fee of Rs 200. Physically handicapped applicants with 40% disability have to pay a fee of Rs 200. All other candidates have to pay the full application fee of Rs 750.

Once the online registration, fee payment and application form submission process is completed, candidates can download the completed application form. The hard copy of the application form must be generated and forwarded along with the specified list of documents to the Joint Secretary cum Exam Controller, Bihar Public Service Commission, 15 Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Patna 800001. The applications must be signed and forwarded through Registered/Speed post so that they reach the Commission before the specified last date.
