Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is recruiting eligible candidates for the post of Principal in Government, Engineering College under Science Technology Department. Official notification with Advt. No 15/2020 is recently published on bpsc.bih.nic.in. Eligible candidates can submit their forms for 32 announced vacancies. The online registration process starts from August 10, 2020, onwards. Candidates can register themselves by August 28, 2020, and submit their application form on or before the last date i.e. September 09, 2020.
Aspirants who have PhD degree and bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the relevant branch (Technology/ Engineering branch) are eligible to apply for the announced post. Candidates must have at least two successful PhD as supervisor/ co-supervisor. They must have a minimum of 08 research publications in SCI journals/ YGC/ AICTE approved list of journals. Candidates who have 15 years of work experience in Teaching/ Industry/ Research are eligible to apply for Principal post. However, out of 15 years, they must have worked 03 years at the post equivalent to Professor. An educational qualification from distance mode/ open university is invalid. Candidates must have completed 37 years as on June 01, 2020. As per the official notification, there is no upper age limit for BPSC recruitment.
Application procedure for BPSC recruitment is conducted through an online process, bpsc.bih.nic.in. Candidates can submit their forms and register themselves by clicking on apply online > BPSC Online Application > apply online link against the post. Before registering keep the email address, mobile number, aadhar card number. A username and password are generated on successful registration. Hereafter, candidates can proceed to submit the BPSC Principal recruitment application form. The filled-in application form along with all the certificates and document should reach the BPSC office before September 15, 2020. The application fee can be paid via online mode. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 100/-. Physically handicapped candidates have to pay Rs. 25/- and SC/ ST/ Female candidates of Bihar state also have to pay Rs 25/-.
The selection process for Principal includes the scrutinizing the academic background, evaluation of the academic performance, domain knowledge, research performance and teaching skill and interview. The first stage of the selection process is the ‘Academic Background’ screening. This round is conducted for 20 marks. Next stage is ‘evaluation of the academic performance, research performance, domain knowledge, and teaching skill’ which is conducted for 60 marks. Qualifying these two stages allows candidates to appear for the interview round. In this round, candidates are asked to carry original documents for the verification. BPSC conducts the interview round for 20 marks. Candidates can check the final merit list through BPSC website only.
