Bihar Public Service Commission has released notifications for the recruitment of Assistant Professor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments. BPSC has advertised 315 vacancies for Assistant Professor post. The online registrations for the said posts start today i.e September 10, 2020. Candidates can register themselves by September 29, 2020. The last date to fill the online application form is October 12, 2020. BPSC has advertised 263 vacancies for Assistant Professor Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 34 vacancies for Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering and 18 vacancies for Assistant Professor Mechanical Engineering. The newly recruited Assistant Professors are posted at Government Engineering Colleges under Science & Technology Dept., Govt. of Bihar. They are appointed under the pay scale of Rs. 57,700,00/- Level 10.
To apply for Assistant Professor, BE/ B. Tech/ BS/ B. Sc (Engineering) and ME/ M Tech/ M.S or integrated M. Tech in relevant engineering subject are required. Candidates with work experience in the relevant field as Assistant Professor on a contractual basis are preferred. Applicant’s age should not be less than 22 years as on August 01, 2020. Moreover, there is no upper age limit for BPSC Assistant Professor recruitment.
Online registrations and application form submission can be done by visiting bpsc.bih.nic.in. A non-refundable application should mandatorily be paid by the candidates by October 05, 2020. General category candidates have to pay Rs. 750/- and Bihar state SC/ ST/ Women/ Physically handicap candidates of all states have to pay Rs. 200/-.
Once done with the online procedure, candidates have to submit hard copies of the form and documents before October 19, 2020. These should be sent to “Joint Secretary Exam Controller, Bihar Public Service Commission, 15, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Beli Road), Patna 800001”. With the form, submit 10th mark sheet, postgraduate degree and certificate, degree mark sheet and certificate, PhD certificate (if applicable), SC/ST certificate, Domicile certificate, disability certificate, OBC/ EWS certificate and others certificates as asked.
The selection process of the Assistant Professor includes three stages which are as follows – verification of academic and research performance (20 marks), the written examination (40 marks) and interview round (15 marks). Candidates who are found eligible as per the prescribed essential qualification are called for the written examination. In this round, applicants are evaluated on the basis of their domain knowledge, teaching skills. The third stage is the interview round. Additional marks are awarded to those who have worked on the post of Assistant Professor on contractual basis earlier. The final result will be out on the BPSC website only.
