Banaras Hindu University has published Rolling Advertisement No. 01/2020-2021 at the official website of the University for the recruitment of eligible candidates into various Teaching posts and Group A posts. BHU is inviting online applications from Indian and Overseas citizens through the detailed advertisement available at the official website of the University i.e. bhu.ac.in. BHU has advertised multiple vacancies for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in different disciplines. The total vacancies also include one vacant post for Director at Group A. The last date for the submission of application forms online, payment of application fee and download of applications in pdf form from the website is July 31, 2020. However, the last date of submission of the downloaded application form along with necessary enclosures is August 03, 2020.
The recruitment is open for both Indian, non-Indian and Overseas Citizen of India cardholders. However, candidates are required to meet the eligibility conditions in terms of the minimum educational qualifications as prescribed against each post. For the posts of Professor and Associate Professor in the Institute of Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of SVDV, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Commerce, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, RGSC, Barkachha (Department concerned), candidates are required to have a Ph.D. For the posts of Professor and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, College of Nursing, IMS, RGSC, Barkacha, candidates must be having a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda. For the posts of Professor and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, candidates must have a Master’s degree in relevant discipline. For the posts of Professor and Associate Professor in the Faculties of Performing Arts and Visual Arts, candidates must have a doctoral degree. A Ph.D. qualification is also necessary to apply for the Group A post of Director. Candidates are advised to check the complete eligibility conditions for all the posts from the official advertisement.
Eligible candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their merit and selected finally through interviews. Upon final selection, candidates are entitled to be appointed at different levels of pay as per their post. Professors are placed at Academic Level 14 for the payment of Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200. Associate Professors are placed at Academic Level 13-A for the payment of Rs. 1,31,400 – 2,17,100. On the other hand, Assistant Professors are placed at Academic Level 10 & 11 as per the corresponding postcode for pay of Rs. 57,700 -1,82,400 and 67,700 -208700.
Candidates can apply online at the official website of BHU by first registering at the website before they can fill up the application form online. A fee of Rs 1000 must be paid online by candidates belonging to Unreserved, OBC or EWS categories only. After the successful submission of the online application process, candidates are required to download the pdf copy of the online application from the website. The same must be forwarded along with necessary enclosures to Office of the
Registrar, (Recruitment & Assessment Cell), Holkar House, BHU, Varanasi-221005. Candidates are advised to strictly note the last dates and ensure that all processes of application are completed on time.
