Army Recruitment Office (ARO) Ferozepur is inviting online applications from candidates of districts Bathinda, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozpur and Fazilka. A recruitment rally to fill up vacant positions of Soldier is to be conducted with eligible applicants. A detailed recruitment advertisement is released in this regard at the official website of the Indian Army i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in containing the details of the recruitment.
As per the notice, candidates domiciled in the aforementioned districts are required to apply online to appear in the rally. The rally is scheduled to be conducted from September 15 to September 24, 2020, at the Capt Sundar Singh Stadium, Ferozpur Cantt. The online application process is commencing on July 17, 2020. The last date to apply online is August 30, 2020. Eligible applicants are to be sent admit cards for the rally from August 31, 2020, to September 13, 2020.
As per the recruitment notification, the openings are for the posts of Soldier General Duty (All Arms), Soldier Technical, Soldier Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant Veterinary, and Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical. To apply for any of these posts, candidates need to be at least 17.5 years old. The upper age limit is 21 years for the post of Soldier GD (All Arms) while for the rest of the posts, the upper age limit is 23 years. In addition, the minimum physical standards must be met. Candidates must be at least 170cm tall (162 cm for the post of Soldier Clerk) and weigh at 50 kgs. The chest measurement must be 77 cm for all posts along with a 5 cm expansion capacity. Applicants must have passed Class 10th for the post of Soldier GD. For all other posts, the minimum academic qualification is Class 12th. Relaxations in physical standards and additional conditions related to educational qualifications are detailed in the recruitment notification.
The initial selection of candidates is to be done through the rally for which, admit cards are issued during the aforementioned schedule. Candidates must report to the venue with the admit card in the printed copy as per the timings mentioned on the admit card. The selection is to be done through physical fitness tests that include running, beam pull-ups, 9 feet ditch, and zig-zag balance. Further physical measurements are carried out and candidates are required to qualify through the medical test. Those who qualify through these tests at the rally site are issued admit cards to appear in the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE).
The applications can be submitted online at the army recruitment website by eligible candidates. There is no application fee involved in the process. However, the online application is mandatory. Once applied, admit cards for the rally are issued only to the eligible candidates. Candidates are advised to make prior arrangements of accommodation while appearing for the rally. In addition, they are required to bring the specified documents to the rally site. An affidavit as prescribed in the notice must also be produced at the rally site without failure.
