Army Recruiting Office, Bangalore is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for recruitment into various categories of Soldier posts. A detailed recruitment notice published at the official Indian Army recruitment website i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in indicates that a recruitment rally is scheduled to be conducted from September 19, 2020 to March 31, 2021. The exact date and venue of the recruitment rally is to be intimated in due course of time. Eligible candidates from specified districts are invited to apply online from July 24 to September 06, 2020. Eligible applicants are sent admit cards 15 days before the rally.
As per the detailed rally notification, the openings are for the posts of Soldier (General Duty) (All Arms), Soldier (Technical), Soldier (Tradesman 10th Pass – Dresser, Chef, Steward, Support Staff, and Washerman), Soldier (Tradesman 8th Pass – Mess Keeper & House Keeper), Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/Inventory Management (All Arms) and Soldier Tech Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant Veterinary. Only male candidates are eligible to apply. The minimum age to apply for any of the advertised posts is 17.5 years. However, the maximum age for all posts is 23 years except for the post of Soldier (General Duty). Candidates must also be compliant with the specified minimum physical standards of height, weight, and chest measurement in order to apply. 10th pass candidates can apply for the post of Soldier (GD), Soldier (Tradesman 10th pass). 8th pass candidates can apply for the post of Soldier (Tradesman 8th pass). For all the other posts, the minimum educational qualification is Class 12th pass.
Candidates of the districts of Bangalore Urban & Rural, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Bellary, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Kodagu, Kolar, Chikaballapura, Hassan and Chitradurga are eligible to apply for the recruitment rally. At the rally site, the selection of eligible applicants is to be done through physical fitness tests. The PFTs consist of 1.6 kms run, Beam (Pull-ups), 9 Feet Ditch, and Zig-Zag Balance. Subsequently, the physical measurements of the applicants are taken and candidates must mandatorily pass through the Medical Tests carried out at the rally site. Those who qualify through these stages are shortlisted and issued admit cards to appear in a subsequent Common Entrance Exam (CEE). The admit cards issued at the rally site contain the details of the date, time and location of the CCE.
Candidates are advised to go through the complete notification and ensure that they comply with the minimum eligibility conditions before proceeding to apply online. Applications can only be submitted online through the official website of the Indian Army. Candidates are required to carry all the specified documents including the Admit card to the rally site. The documents also include 20 copies of recent passport-sized photograph besides which, the educational certificates, domicile certificate, caste & religion certificate, character certificates, affidavit, etc. must also be carried. Arrangements for accommodation must be made beforehand during the conduct of the rally which spans a period of 3 to 4 days.
