Assam Public Service Commission has released an official advertisement to notify about 49 vacancies in the Industries & Commerce Department and Transport Department. The vacancies are for the posts of Functional Manager/Project Manager/Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Assistant Engineer, and Junior Engineer in the aforementioned departments of the state government. The Commission is inviting offline applications in the prescribed proforma from eligible candidates. The post-wise details of eligibility criteria and other important information can be found in the detailed advertisement which is available at the website of the Commission i.e. apsc.nic.in. Candidates must note that the last date of the receipt of the application form is July 31, 2020.
The total number of vacancies are bifurcated across the aforementioned posts in different departments of the state government. 21 openings are advertised for the post of Functional Manager/Project Manager/Deputy Director and 12 openings are advertised for the post of Assistant Director of Cottage Industries and its equivalent posts. These posts are in the Industries & Commerce Department of the state government. On the other hand, there are 04 openings for the post of Assistant Engineer and 12 openings for Junior Engineer posts in the Department of Transport under the Directorate of Inland Water Transport, Assam.
In order to apply for the post of Functional Manager/Project Manager/Deputy Director in the Industries & Commerce Department, candidates must be within the age range of 30 to 45 years and holding a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Arts, Science or Commerce. The minimum educational qualifications remain unchanged when applying for the post of Assistant Director of Cottage Industries. However, the age range to comply with is 25 to 40 years. In order to apply for the post of Assistant Engineer, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering and within the age range of 21 to 38 years. In order to apply for the post of Junior Engineer, candidates must have a Diploma Engineering qualification in Mechanical/Civil discipline and within the age range of 21 to 38 years.
The application procedure is conducted offline for all of these posts. Candidates must download the application form available at the official website of the Commission on the aforementioned website. The application form must be filled up and duly signed by the candidate. All application forms, in addition to the affixed photograph and necessary self-attested photocopies of documents/testimonials, must reach the Commission at Deputy Secretary, APSC, Jawaharnagar, Khanpara, Guwahati – 781022 on or before July 31, 2020. An application fee of Rs 250 must be paid by General and EWS candidates while SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates must pay a subsidized fee of Rs 150 only. BPL candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee.
APSC will release the syllabus on the official website if a written exam is conducted for the selection of eligible applicants. The Commission has indicated that a written test/viva-voce may be conducted for the selection of eligible candidates as decided by the Commission as per their discretion. Candidates appointed to the post of Functional Manager/Project Manager/Deputy Director and Assistant Director and Assistant Engineer are placed at the Pay Band 4 in the pay scale of Rs 30000 – 110000. Candidates appointed to the post of Junior Engineer are placed at Pay Band 2 in the pay scale of Rs 14000 – 60500.
