National Law University, Delhi has officially postponed the All India Law Entrance Test 2021 due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. NLU Delhi has released an official postponement notification on the website nludelhi.ac.in indicating that the exam will not be conducted on June 20, 2021 as announced earlier. In addition, the notice also indicates that the last date to apply online for the law entrance exam has been extended.
While the CLAT exam is conducted for admission to National Law Universities in India, NLU Delhi separately conducts the AILET exam for admission to programs like BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD programs in the University. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held on June 20, 2021, although now it stands postponed as per the latest notification released by NLU Delhi. The University is going to announce revised dates of conducting the exam in due course of time.

While the AILET 2021 exam has been postponed, the last date to apply for the law entrance test has also been extended. NLU Delhi’s latest notice reads “National Law University Delhi has extended the last date for submission of online application forms for AILET 2021 to June 25, 2021”.
Earlier, the last date to apply online to appear in the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2021 was May 20, 2021. However, as indicated in the latest notice by NLU Delhi, the last date is now extended to June 25, 2021.
With the exam date postponed and the registration window extended, candidates have time to prepare better for the exam. Detailed information on the upcoming exam can be found on the official website i.e. nludelhi.ac.in. Aspiring candidates aiming to appear in the exam this year for admission to their preferred law program in NLU Delhi are advised not to wait till the last date and complete their application process now.
Candidates may note that offline applications are not accepted for NLU Delhi’s AILET 2021 exam. After visiting the website, candidates have to register first following which, candidates will be able to log in to fill up the application form. Candidates must also upload scanned images of their photograph and signature on the online application form as per specifications laid down by the University.
The application fee amount to be paid for applying online for the AILET 2021 exam is Rs 3050 for candidates belonging to General category. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST and PWD category have to pay only Rs 1050 as application fee. Additionally, SC/ST and PWD category candidates, who also belong to the BPL (Below Poverty Level) category are completely exempted from the payment of any application fee.
