West Bengal Public Service Commission has recently released the West Bengal Judicial Service (Prelims) exam date. As per the recent notification, WBPSC will be conducting the prelims examination for West Bengal Judicial Service 2020 on October 11, 2020. The e-admit cards for the examinations will be uploaded on the website accordingly. Aspirants can get the notice and detailed recruitment notification from the official website, wbpsc.gov.in.

Candidates who have successfully submitted their applications for West Bengal Judicial Service can download the admit card once uploaded on the website. For this, they have to browse the official website, pscwbapplication.in. After reaching on the home page of the website, candidates have to tap on the ‘admit card’ tab present on the left side of the screen. A login page then opens where they have to enter their enrollment number and date of birth. Call letters can also be downloaded using the first name of the candidate and date of birth. Along with the admit card, WBPSC will also release the important instructions that aspirants have to follow for smooth commencement of the examination.
The preliminary examinations will be conducted in Kolkata (Code – 01) and Darjeeling (Code – 02). Candidates who belong to Kalimpong district and three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik and Kurseong will be allowed to appear for prelims at Darjeeling centre.
WBPSC will be conducting preliminary examinations for 200 marks. Applicants appearing for the preliminary examination of WBPSC Judicial Service have to answer 200 multiple choice questions. Each question on West Bengal Judicial Service (WBJS) carries 01 marks. The examination will be conducted for 180 minutes i.e 02 hours 30 minutes. The standard of the paper will be of the level of law graduation level.
The questions for the preliminary examination is based on the following topics – English Composition, General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Test of Reasoning, Law of Contracts and Torts, Indian Constitution, Civil Procedure Codes, Laws of Evidence, Criminal Procedure Code and Indian Penal Code, Personal Law and Law of Limitation. WBJS selection procedure consists of three stages – prelims examination, mains examination and personality test. As expected the prelims examination will take place in October 2020. Candidates who qualify prelims are called for the final written examination. The mains examination is expected to be conducted at Kolkata in January 2021. The personality test will be conducted in the office of West Bengal PSC. After the declaration result, shortlisted candidates are appointed as Civil Judge for the 26 vacant posts.
