Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in base level education in the country. With small yet important activities, they make children school ready. Although the impact of Anganwadis in education in India will have far reaching consequences, in a good way, for the rural masses it is still widely considered as a place to send children to get nutrition.
Important aspects of early education such as holistic development of children which is done through stimulation and brain development, are taught to Anganwadi workers. Each state has a slightly different training module in their anganwadis. Yet what is constant in all the gradual change in the way things are done. Whereas at one time the focus was on disciplining children, an more wholesome growth plan of children is being planned now.
