MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul an IB World School, Pune host the 4th ISSO – International Schools Sports Organization – a three-day event commencing from 27th to 29th September 2022.
Around 700 students from 69 schools across the country from various international boards will be competing for honors in 4 sports: Archery, Chess, Table tennis, and Swimming.
The event started with a grand inaugural ceremony including a flag march and oath-taking. The chief guest -t he Director of ISSO – International Schools Sports Organization, and Executive Committee Member School Games Federation of India, Mr. Jagdeep Singh addressed the august gathering and declared the meet open. The chief guest was felicitated by the Head of our school Mr. Venugopal. Following which awards were presented by the chief guest in the form of cheques to the five winners of the 3rd ISSO meet 2021.
The entire day the sports arenas were buzzing with enthusiastic participants preparing to give in their best. The parallel competitions happened in four different venues, by the end of the day we completed three rounds of the Chess competition, 50 events of swimming events and all events of the Archery Competition were completed.
Mr. Gaurav Dixit, the director of marketing and PR of the school games federation of India, and Mr. Abhishek Saraswat, the administrative head ISSO India, did the honours of distributing the prizes for the first day’s events.
