The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam has been officially postponed by Shasanadesh, UP government owing to the Coronavirus pandemic. The exam was scheduled to be held on August 25, 2021 while the official notification was scheduled to be released on May 11, 2021 as per earlier indications. However, it has been clarified through a latest postponement notice that the notification has been delayed and fresh exam dates will be announced later.
The UPTET is not the only Teacher Eligibility Test to be postponed or considered for postponement this year. Two days ago, the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers was also postponed due to the Coronavirus situation. The exam has reportedly been postponed for the fifth time in 1.5 years as lakhs of candidates await for the exam to be conducted for recruitment of around 31000 third grade teacher. REET 2021 was earlier postponed and scheduled to be held on June 20, 2021 but the new exam date has also been postponed.
Professional Examination Board, Madhya Pradesh postponed the MP TET 2021 exam well in advance in January 2021. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held from January 02 to 23, 2021 as per official records. However, the PEB postponed the exam and revised dates are yet to be announced by the Board for conducting the state level TET exam in MP.
The Kerala TET exam date is to be officially announced while applications are currently ongoing till May 23, 2021. Pareeksha Bhawan Kerala started receiving online applications after releasing the official notification on April 28, 2021. Certain revisions were done to the last date of receipt of online applications and currently, the last date of receipt of applications is May 23, 2021. KTET 2021 exam dates are yet to be announced by the Pareeksha Bhawan.
The Chhattisgarh state government postponed the CGTET exam earlier last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic hitting India hard for the first time last year. While the exam was postponed indefinitely, till date, the conducting body, i.e. Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board has not announced any revised dates to conduct the exam this year.
Some of the state are yet to conduct the TET exam this year although the exam date has been declared. For example, the Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is all set to conduct the HP TET 2021 exam in July 2021. With the exact exam dates announced, the Board is going to commence online applications for the exam on May 24, 2021. On the other hand, some states have already conducted the TET exams for example Odisha. The OTET 2021 exam was conducted amidst the Coronavirus pandemic in April 2021 and the official answer keys and results are awaited by candidates.
