The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had released the application form for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination on February 2, 2022. These updates were given in an official notification which was provided on the UPSC website. Based on this notification, the last date to fill out the application form is February 22, 2022. As it has already been 20 days, UPSC is unlikely to extend the date of registration. Candidates must make sure to fill out the application form before 6 PM.

Steps to fill UPSC IAS Application Form 2022
Filling out this application is a three-part procedure. It mainly includes filling in details, uploading scanned documents, and paying the application form fees. Candidates who need help with this can follow the systematic steps mentioned below.
Step 1. Visit the official UPSC recruitment portal, upsconline.nic.in
Step 2. On the homepage, candidates can find a link for “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC” in blue. Click on this.

Step 3. This will direct candidates to the online application form page. Candidates will have to click on ‘Part 1‘ of the application form. Thereafter, candidates will be asked to fill in several candidates based details, educational details, and so on. Enter all these details and click on submit.

Step 4. After this, candidates will be asked to submit scanned images of documents. This includes a scanned copy of the photo ID. Examples of photo ID are Aadhar Card/Voter Card/ PAN Card/Passport/Driving License.
Step 5. Lastly, to confirm their application, candidates have to pay the application form fees. This is paid via online means. This is Part 2 of the application, that must be filled for the candidature to be accepted. Candidates can access this section using the registration number and password generated while filling Part 1 of the application form.
Step 6. After paying the application form fees, candidates must take a note of the application number and take a printout of the receipt for future reference.

Application Form Fees
A small amount is charged by UPSC in order to complete the registration process for IAS Examination. It is charged based on the candidate’s caste. Candidates can pay this fee online (Debit Cards/Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets) or Challan. For unreserved candidates, an amount of INR 100 will be charged. For all other candidates, including women, SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, fee is exempt.
