Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic), Uttar Pradesh has extended the last date to apply for the JEECUP 2021 polytechnic entrance exam. The last date is now June 15, 2021 instead of April 30, 2021. JEECUP has made the announcement of the extension in registration window officially on the website jeecup.nic.in. The entrance exam now stands postponed as per earlier notifications of the Council and based on previous year trends, it is expected that the exam may now be conducted in July 2021.
The JEECUP exam is conducted for admission to all polytechnics affiliated to the Council of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh. The Council commenced online application process in February 2021 and the exam was earlier scheduled to be held from June 15 to 20, 2021. However, on account of the recent spike in COVID-19 casualties in India, the exam was postponed and new dates are expected to be announced in due course of time.
It may be noted that last year, the window for JEECUP application form was closed on June 21 while the exam commenced from September 12, 2021 i.e. almost after three months from the last date to apply online. However, one must take into account the disruptions caused by the pandemic last year which impacted the conventional schedule of the exam. In the year before that, the JEECUP or UP Polytechnic exam was held on April 22, while the application form ended on March 13. Thus, based on conventional schedule of events, the UP Polytechnic exam is conducted after around a month from the last date to apply online.
Based on the analysis of the conventional schedule of events of the JEECUP exam in the recent past, it can be said the JEECUP 2021 exam may be held in the month of July 2021. Since the last date to apply online has been extended to June 15, 2021, now, candidates may expect the exam to be conducted after around one month’s time in July 2021.
The JEECUP exam is going to be conducted in the online mode for all groups. As admission to variety of Polytechnic programs are offered through the exam, therefore, candidates must apply online for only a corresponding group depending on their preferred program. The paper consist of Multiple Choice Questions and candidates are given a time of 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test. A total of 100 questions are asked in the paper and while correct answers are awarded 4 marks each, incorrect answers are liable for deduction of 1 marks per question.
