Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh is going to conduct the Class 10 and 12 board examination from April 24 to May 12, 2021. Authorities released the official timetable on the website of UP Board upmsp.edu.in on February 10, 2021. However, speculations started brewing up among Class 10 and 12 students about the postponement of their exams after the announcement of the Panchayat elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh. However, officials have not provided any clarification or information to confirm these speculations.
Recently, the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commissioner, Manoj Kumar, announced the dates of Panchayat elections in the state. According to the official, these elections shall be held on April 15, 19, 26 and 29, 2021. These dates clash with the UP Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled from April 24 to May 12, 2021. Thereafter, speculations arose among students about the postponement of board examination.
Another major reason why these exams are likely to be postponed is that more than 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be occupied in the polling work during the Panchayat elections. Moreover, more than 90% of the polling stations shall be established in school buildings. Under such circumstances, it would not be possible to conduct the board exams on the prescribed dates.
According to various media outlets, a revised schedule of board examination may release soon on the official website i.e., upmsp.edu.in. Reports published through Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma also stated that the UP class 10 and intermediate 2021 exams shall be conducted after the Panchayat elections. Once the entire election process ends, new dates for the examination shall be decided. A meeting shall also be organised about the concerned topic with the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Multiple media outlets have also speculated that the Class 10 and 12 board exams shall be held in the month of May, 2021, mostly in the first week. While the exam dates are expected to change, the order of exams is likely to remain the same. Thus, it is clear that Class 10 and 12 board exams shall begin with the Hindi subject.
This year, a total of 56,03813 students have registered for the Class 10 and intermediate exams. Out of the total students, 29,94,312 students have registered for Class 10 board exams whereas 26,09501 students have registered for the intermediate exams. A total of 31,47,793 boys and 24,56,020 girls have registered for the UP 2021 board exams.
UP 2021 Boards were scheduled to commence from April 24, 2021. However, due to the Panchayat elections, they are likely to get postponed. However, no official notification confirming the same has been issued by authorities.
