National Testing Agency (NTA) has released UGC NET 2019 answer key today, on July 1, 2019, at 8 PM on ntanet.nic.in. To view it, candidates have to login with application number and date of birth. Challenges against answer keys are also being accepted.
UGC NET 2019 was held on June 20, 21, 24, 25, and 26. Thereafter question paper and responses were released on June 29. Last date to view question papers and response sheets is July 3. Now, just four days after exam, answer keys have also been made available.
NTA has activated two links at ntanet.nic.in. One says answer key challenge. Other says display of question paper and responses. However, both lead to same login page. As soon as one logs in, then different links for question paper with responses, and answer key are encountered.
To check answer key, candidates have to first open question paper and see question ID, response ID. Then they have to go to answer key and search for that question ID, and see correct answer ID against it.
Challenges against answer key can be submitted from same interface, where answer key is being shown. To challenge, select option ID and select that answer is wrong. Then submit challenge by paying fee against it. For every question challenged, fee to be paid is Rs 1000 as processing charges.
Since response sheets are available with question paper, thus estimated marks can be calculated. Candidates get 2 marks for every correct answer, and there is no negative marking. Thus marks obtained in exam shall equal number of correct answers * 2.
In order to qualify the exam, 40% marks in aggregate of paper 1 and paper 2 are required (35% for reserved category). Cut off for JRF and Assistant Professor will be calculated on basis of formula provided by NTA in UGC NET June 2019 information brochure.
NTA will next compile a final answer key, on basis of challenges received. Per it, papers of candidates will be checked. UGC NET 2019 result shall then be announced on basis of performance of candidates in paper 1 and paper 2.
Expected cut off of UGC NET 2019, on basis of exam analysis and statistics, are as follows. Cut off may increase due to the fact that candidates were able to perform better as break between paper 1 and paper 2 was eliminated. However it may fluctuate down as syllabus was revised.
