National Testing Agency (NTA) is looked forward to release the answer key of UGC NET 2019 held in June, on July 4, 2019. The premier body for higher education exams in India has confirmed that those who appeared in UGC NET from June 20 to 26, 2019, can download their question papers and response sheets only until 5 PM of July 3, 2019.
NTA conducted UGC NET on June 20, 21, 24, 25, and 26, 2019. The exam was held in two shifts each day. It was conducted for 81 subjects. 9.42 lakh candidates had applied whereas 6.81 lakh had appeared. The exam took place at 615 centres in 237 cities. Question papers and response sheets were then released on June 29, 2019.
When will NTA release UGC NET Answer Key June 2019?
That the UGC NET Answer Key 2019 will be issued on July 4, 2019, has not been notified by the body. However, it is extrapolated on basis of the fact that last time NTA published answer key of UGC NET exam exactly one day after closing the question paper and response sheet download window.
To elaborate, the last time that NTA held UGC NET, it released question paper and response sheet on December 26 and kept the window to download it open until December 28. Then it released the answer keys on December 29, exactly a day later. Since this time the last date to download question paper and response sheet is July 3, therefore July 4 is anticipated to be the date of issuance of answer key.
Why should you download question paper now and not just directly download UGC NET answer key?
Candidates should not wait for answer key to release to download their question paper. This is because answer key may come in a table form containing question ID and answer ID. Wherein IDs correspond to IDs of questions and answers mentioned in question paper they are downloading now, and everyone has a unique paper. Candidates have unique questions and answer IDs because in a computer based test, order of questions is jumbled even for candidates who appeared in same subject on same day in same shift. Therefore it is critical for anyone who wishes to check their answers from UGC NET answer key, to download the question paper right now.
This time candidates are getting a longer period of time to download the question paper and response sheets. Last time they got only four days, whereas this time the window is of five days.
Along with answer keys, NTA will also give facility for challenging the answer keys. Candidates will be able to submit question ID that they think is wrong along with correct answer and suitable explanation. For each challenge, candidates will have to pay Rs 1000 as processing charges.
Result of UGC NET 2019 shall be announced by July 15, 2019. Though it is expected to come early, around July 10, 2019. Candidates will be declared qualified for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor, or Assistant Professor, on basis of it.
