SRM Institute of Science and Technology was supposed to start slot booking for SRMJEEE 2021 today, at 8 AM. However, at the time of publishing this piece, no separate link for slot booking has been activated yet.
The official website is srmist.edu.in. The last message on the page where phase 1 exam information is hosted says “SRMJEEE – Phase I – Information and Guidelines (Slot Booking and Mock Tests starts from 8.00 am on 20-05-2021)”.
As per the document on remote proctored exam guidelines released by SRM, “SRMJEEE-2021 Phase 1 Remote Proctored Online Mode (RPOM) Examination Information and Guidelines for Candidates”, the slot booking process is to be at online admissions portal. Which may mean that the slot booking can be accessed at login page that is applications.srmist.edu.in/btech. However candidates are saying that they cannot find any slot booking option after logging in there.
This delay has caused a flutter of panic among students. The main reason being that students are bound for time. They will get only 39 hours to window to book a slot of their choice. And in this time, they will also have to attempt mock test; the SRMJEEE 2021 mock test is also scheduled for today and tomorrow only. And on top of it all, some of them also have VITEEE 2021 mock test also scheduled in this window.
Candidates are asking on various social media platforms, whether anyone has found the link for slot booking yet.
The reason behind the delay in starting slot booking link is not clear. It may be noted that SRM was supposed to start the slot booking yesterday, but delayed the process by a day. The most plausible reason at this juncture seems to technical issues.
At the moment, candidates are advised to keep checking the official website from time to time for updates.
