State Council of Education, Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has published the admission notice for the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) 2021 course. The admission notice has been published on the council’s official website scertassam.co.in. According to the notice, the online application process shall begin from May 10, 2021, and the deadline to submit the application form is May 27, 2021. Thereafter, SCERT authorities shall be conducting the Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2021 on June 27, 2021. The examination shall be conducted by following all the COVID-19 related guidelines issued by the central government for the present circumstances.
The D.El.Ed 2021 admission notification contains important details such as qualification and age-related eligibility criteria, reservation, the online application process, application fee, information about admit cards, etc. Authorities have also advised candidates to visit the official website scertassam.co.in frequently to get their queries resolved regarding the syllabus, paper pattern and marking scheme of the PET 2021 entrance test.
According to the admission notice, candidates must have passed the Class 12 board exam or its equivalent from any recognised central or state board or council. Furthermore, they must have acquired at least 50 percent aggregate marks in their exam excluding the marks obtained in the optional subject. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST(P), ST(H) categories have been given a 5 percent relaxation in the qualification criteria.
The age-related eligibility criteria have also been mentioned in the notice. Accordingly, candidates must not be less than 18 years old and not older than 34 years as on July 01, 2021. Here again, a relaxation of 2 years has been given to applicants of SC, ST(P), ST(H) categories. Candidates are required to fulfil all these eligibility criteria to be deemed eligible for the admission process.
Interested candidates who fulfil the eligibility pre-requisites can apply for the PET 2021 examination only through the online mode. They shall be able to access the application form from May 10, 2021, onwards. Candidates are instructed to complete all the registration formalities on or before May 27, 2021, to appear for the exam. The registration form shall be made available on the official website scertassam.co.in.
During the registration process, candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs.400 irrespective of the category to which they belong. They can pay this fee through online payment portals like Internet Banking, Credit card, Debit card or Wallet. After the completion of the application process, PET 2021 admit cards shall be issued to the successfully registered candidates.
SCERT shall be issuing the admit cards on the official website from June 21, 2021. To do so, they must enter their application number generated during the registration process and date of birth. They advised to take a printout of the admit card well-in advance to prevent any inconvenience before the exam. The venue of PET 2021 shall be indicated in the admit card.
PET 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on June 27, 2021, in the District Institutes for Education and Training (DIETs) located in various districts. However, if the candidate number increases beyond capacity, the exam shall be conducted in TEIs, schools, colleges, etc located nearby. Moreover, while the date of examination has been notified, it may get changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
