State Bank of India (SBI) announced Probationary Officers (PO) result of preliminary exam today, on June 29, 2019, at 5 PM. SBI PO Result 2019 has been published at sbi.co.in. Candidates can either log in with registration number and date of birth, or roll number and date of birth.

The result shows marks obtained out of 100, along with cut off and qualifying status. The cut off is 71 for general candidates, 68.25 for OBC, 61.75 for SC, and 54.75 for ST. For the first time there is cut off for EWS, which stands at 68.25 this time. Besides these categories, the cut offs for horizontal reservations are 59.5 for LD, 64.75 for VI, and 16.25 for HI.

Cut offs are notably higher this time. Last time the cut offs were 51.5 for general, 48.25 for OBC, 43.25 for SC, 31.25 for ST. Thus the cut offs have increased by 38% for general, 41% for OBC, 43% for SC, and 75% for ST.

Another notable change in the result this time is the absence of sectional marks. This time SBI has only displayed overall score. Whereas until last time, sectional marks of English language out of 30, quantitative aptitude out of 35, and reasoning ability out of 35 used to be displayed.

SBI had conducted the preliminary exam for PO recruitment on June 8 and 9, 2019. It was a computer based test of one hour duration. The test had negative marking of one-fourth marks per incorrect answer. Whereas one mark was awarded for correct answers.

The declaration of SBI PO prelims result 2019 today came as a pleasant surprise to many. Previously, there were reports that result was to be announced sometime this week, but date was not fixed.

Those who have been declared as qualified as per the prelims result, will be able to download SBI PO admit card 2019 for mains from second week of July. Thereafter the mains exam is scheduled to be held on July 20, 2019.

The mains exam will again be an objective test in computer based test mode. It will have four sections. First section will be on reasoning and computer aptitude, with 45 questions of 60 marks to be done in 60 minutes. Second section shall be data analysis and interpretation with 35 questions, 60 marks, to be done in 45 minutes. Then the third section will be general / economy / banking awareness with 40 questions, of 40 marks, and duration of 35 minutes. And last section would be English language with 35 questions of 40 marks to be attempted in 40 minutes. Negative marking would be one-fourth of marks of a question for incorrect answers.

SBI PO Recruitment 2019 is being conducted by the State Bank of India for recruitment of Probationary Officers for 2000 vacancies. Selection is via prelims, mains, interview.
