A latest government job notification is providing an opportunity for primary school pass job seekers to apply. Recruitment notification identified by employment notice number 04/EC/CB/SHG/ GEN ESST/VOL-XVI/DE/727 is inviting applications for filling various posts in the Office of Cantonment Board, Shillong.
This Shillong Cantonment Board recruitment 2019 is for a total of 17 (seventeen) vacancies. Which includes 13 vacancies of safaiwala, 1 for fitter, 2 for chowkidaar, and 1 for lower division assistant.
For the post of safaiwala, the desirable, not essential, qualification is that applicant should be primary school passed. There are 7 vacancies of UR and 6 for ST. candidates should be between 18 to 25 years of age. They will join in level 1 of the pay matrix as per the revised pay structure.
Fitter water supply post is also open for primary school standard pass candidates with trade test passed as fitter water supply, where both these are essential qualifications. Age limit is the same. There single vacancy in this post is under UR category. This post is eligible for level 2 of the pay matrix.
Chowkidar post has 2 UR vacancies. Here, an applicant is desired to be matriculation or HSLC pass; there is no essential qualification. Candidates who join as chowkidar will be placed in level 1 of the pay matrix.
Then there is 1 unreserved category vacancy for the post of lower division clerk. Essential qualification for this post is to be HSLC or SSLC pass. It is desirable that candidate kas knowledge of computer typing in english. LDC post is in level 5 of the pay matrix.
The cut off date for determining age limit is December 19, 2019. Reserved category candidates will get relaxation in age.

The board says, “Application completed in all respects i.e with Xerox attested copies of certificates, Age Proof certificate (attested), four self addressed stamped envelopes, one self addressed post card and two colour passport size photograph should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Cantonment Board in a sealed envelope clearly mentioning the post applied for and through registered post only.”
Application form has to be paid in the form of DD of Rs 100, or Rs 50 for SC, ST, OBC candidates, drawn in favor of Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Cantonment Board. That, with the form should be sent to The Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Cantonment Board, 13 Pine Walk Area, Shillong-793001.
Application form will be accepted only until December 19, 2019. For applications from outside the state of Meghalaya and Assam, the last date is January 2, 2020.
