PGI Chandigarh gives PGIMER 2020 result a miss on scheduled date, may announce today

Candidates have been waiting for over 24 hours now for the PGI Chandigarh results. The computer based test for MD/MS courses was held on November 30, 2019. The test was held in 13 cities namely Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, Jammu, Kolkata, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram.

As per the official prospectus, the date of declaration of result ought to have been December 6, 2019. While there is no explanation from the official administration about the delay, there seems to be a technical issue on the website. 

The official website of PGI Chandigarh is pgimer.edu.in. Clicking on any link, either under the news and events section, or information for candidates section is leading to a blank page with a single error “java.lang.NullPointerException”. It is probable, that this error is the reason behind the delay in PGIMER 2020 result. 

As soon as the result is available, it can be checked from pgimer.edu.in. Result notification will be provided under the section titled information for candidates. There will be lists of candidates who are called for counselling, and another list for others. 

According to the prospectus, 1st counselling for MD/MS courses at PGIMER Chandigarh will be conducted on December 20, 2019 at 11 am. Then the 2nd counselling will be on January 10, 2020. The 3rd counselling is scheduled for January 18, 2020. And the spot admission through open counselling will be organized on January 30, 2020. On all the dates, the counselling timings will be the same, at least the start time will be. 

Admission to all candidates will be given on the basis of their merit obtained as per marks obtained in the entrance exam, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. 

PGIMER MD/MS entrance exam 2020 was a computer based test with 250 multiple choice questions. Each question had 5 options, and only one answer was most appropriate. Questions were asked on applied anatomy, applied biochemistry, immunogenetics and molecular biology, applied physiology, pathology, pharmacology, microbiology, forensic medicine, social & preventive medicine, internal medicine, paediatrics,  dermatology, psychiatry, radiodiagnosis, obstetrics and gynaecology, radiotherapy, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics.

The minimum cut off percentile in the entrance test for open, OCI, and sponsored candidates is 55th percentile, 50th percentile for OBC, PWBD, SC, ST, rural area, foreign nationals, and 45th percentile for Bhutanese nationals.

Admission to MD/MS courses will be closed on January 31, 2020.

PGI Chandigarh is also going to conduct an entrance exam for DM, M.Ch, MHA courses on December 18, 2019. Likewise there will be an entrance exam for fellowships, Ph.D, M.Sc, M.Sc MLT courses on December 10, 2019.
