The National Testing Agency is a body approved by the Union Cabinet. It will be chaired by a member appointed by MHRD. The agency will be responsible for conducting the entrance examination at the national level. Earlier, bodies like CBSE, AICTE used to conduct major entrance exam in the field of Engineering, Medical, and Management. Now, NTA will be wholly responsible for the conduction of these exams. In the latest news, JEE Main, JPAT, NEET, CMAT, and UGC NET will be conducted by NTA. Having the same agency for the exams helps to bring symmetry in exam conduction and difficulty level of question papers of same exams.

Earlier, CMAT was conducted by All India Council for Technical  Education for admission in MBA, PGDM, Executive PGDM, PGCM courses. Now, will be conducted by NTA only. With this announcement, the exam date has also been announced early. It was a speculation earlier that exam will take place in the third week of January 2019, but now it has been confirmed that CMAT will conduct on January 27, 2019.

Apart from that, candidates have been baffled whether there will be any changes in the exam pattern, syllabus, application fee etc. The CMAT will continue to be an online entrance examination. Moreover, all the exams under NTA will conduct in online mode only.

About if the exam will take place in a window of more than two days, can’t be predicted now. Usually, CMAT takes place in one day only. If the number of candidates is huge then it might be possible that the exam will conduct in a window of more than one day.

There is even no change in the language of the question paper, the CMAT 2019 will continue to conduct in English only. Candidates sometimes expect that the syllabus of the exam will change with the new exam conducting body. So, to clear the confusion, there is no change in the syllabus of Common Management Admission Test. As, in management exams, there is even no particular and specified syllabus for the exam.

Regarding the exam pattern, there is also no change in it. The CMAT 2019 has four sections ie Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, and Language Comprehension. There are total 100 questions having 25 questions in each section. Each question carries four marks with a negative marking of one mark.

The NTA will invite the candidates for CMAT 2019 Registration soon. Moreover, there isn’t any change in the application fees of CMAT. The registration fee is Rs. 1400 for General/ OBC category and Rs. 700 for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female category. The application fee is payable by online or offline mode.

Most importantly, the score for CMAT 2019 for admission in the management programs will be accepted by AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.

If you have any doubt regarding the changes in CMAT 2019 due to change in exam conduction body form AICTE to NTA, please ask in the comments below.
