National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is inviting applications to fill up vacancies for the post of contractual faculty. The vacancies are available in 10 different departments of the Institute. Offline applications by eligible candidates are invited to fill up the vacancies purely on a temporary basis. The detailed advertisement in regard to this recruitment is published by NIT Srinagar at the official website nitsri.ac.in. Intending candidates can submit their applications till 04.30 PM of September 14, 2020.
As per the recruitment notification published by NIT Srinagar, the vacancies for the post of faculty are available in 10 different departments of the institute. These departments are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics and Humanities & Social Sciences. Selected candidates are entitled to receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs 65000 (for PhD candidates). Those who do not have a PhD in the respective field are entitled to receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs 50000. Candidates are to be appointed on a temporary basis for a period of One Semester only.
One must ensure that they are eligible to apply as per the terms and conditions of eligibility specified by the Institute at the official recruitment notification. Candidates having a B.E./B.Tech degree and M.E./M.Tech degree along with PhD in a relevant discipline are eligible to apply for the faculty posts in each of the Engineering Departments. To apply for the post of faculty in the Mathematics department, one must have an M.Sc with a PhD in the relevant discipline. Similarly, in order to apply for the post of Humanities and Social Sciences, candidates having an MBA with PhD & MA English with PhD are eligible to apply. Candidates having M.E./M.Tech qualification is also eligible to apply under the condition that their candidature will be considered if PhD candidates are not available.
Selected candidates are required to join immediately. Candidates having a PhD will be preferred for selection. As specified earlier, the recruitment is purely on a temporary basis and selected candidates cannot claim any permanent employment in future after the completion of the contract period. Applicants must note that NIT Srinagar reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the selection interviews.
Applications/bio-data for the recruitment can be sent to the Registrar Office by September 2020. The applications are received till 4.30 PM. Candidates must not fail this date and send their applications by post in advance by post. Applications must be accompanied by self-attested copies of all supporting documents in the bound form with proper indexing for screening by the Selection Committee.
