Two of the most prominent school education board, CBSE and CISCE, have cancelled board exams for class 10 and 12. Now, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is also expected to do the same. The board has already cancelled class 10th exams and is expected to announce cancellation for class 12th as well.

Yesterday, PM Modi conducted a high level meeting and in it decided to cancelled CBSE class 12th exams. As per a media report, a source said that “NIOS 12th board exams 2021 may be cancelled after this development. The same thing had happened last year as well. First, the CBSE board exams were cancelled, and then the NIOS exams got cancelled. Nobody wants to risk the safety of students in the pandemic. But all students must wait for the final decision on this matter, which is expected by 20 June.”

However, looking at the situation, it is expected that NIOS will announce the final decision on class 12th exams before the due date. Most of the state and national board follows CBSE and NIOS is expected to do the same. Also, looking at the COVID situation and poor status of vaccination there is a high possibility that the exams will be cancelled.

Students have been requesting the NIOS to cancel NIOS 12th Board Exams 2021. Learners have been requesting the authorities to cancel the NIOS 12th board exams and assess the students based on Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs). However, there has been no official confirmation from the board yet on the matter.

NIOS earlier announced the secondary public examination 2021 which was supposed to be held in June were cancelled and their results will be compiled and declared soon on the basis of assessment criteria. The board while announcing its decision to cancel exams for class 10 students also announced postponement of class 12th exams. The board also said that the situation will be reviewed on June 20, 2021, and a decision with regard to conducting NIOS 12th board exams 2021 will be taken after that.

Moreover, a plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the class 12 board exam for students in the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

Recently, NIOS also declared results of the NIOS class 10th and 12th on-demand April exam 2021 on its official website. Candidates who appeared for the same can check their results online at nios.ac.in. NIOS class 10th and 12th on-demand April exam 2021 were held from April 1 to 15, 2021, at various centres spread across the country.
