National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur issued a public notice yesterday, April 28, 2021, regarding the postponement of the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2021. According to the notice, NIMCET 2021 was previously scheduled for May 23, 2021. However, the country is currently experiencing the second wave of COVID-19 and a surge in the daily number of infections. Hence, the institute has decided to postpone the examination to a later date. The revised schedule shall be notified 15 days prior to the examination.
Authorities clarified that all activities related to NIMCET 2021 stand postponed until further intimation. These activities include the date of filling preferred choices, counselling session, admission process, etc. The postponement decision was taken to ensure the health and safety of students as well as officials organising the exam.
The revised schedule shall be decided when the situation stabilises in the country. Notification regarding the updated schedule shall be issued on the official website nimcet.in, subsequently. NIT Raipur authorities requested the students to visit the official website in the meantime to get their queries resolved.
NIT Raipur conducted the NIMCET 2021 registration process from March 11, 2021, 10:00 am to April 07, 2021, up to 5:00 pm. Candidates also got the opportunity to make changes in their application form from April 02 to 07, 2021. Following this, the institute was going to release the exam admit cards on May 15, 2021, on the official website nimcet.in. However, since the exam has been postponed, admit cards may not be released on the existing date. However, no such clarification has been provided by the institute authorities.
Successfully registered candidates can download the NIMCET 2021 admit cards on the official website nimcet.in once they are issued. To do so, they must log in to the website by entering their registered email ID and password. After submitting the login credentials, the dashboard shall open. Candidates must access the admit card download link from the dashboard. A new tab shall open in which the admit card shall be displayed.
Candidates are advised to take 2-3 printouts of the admit card well in advance before the exam. Moreover, they must preserve this admit card carefully till the completion of the admission process. All candidates must note that the NIMCET 2021 admit card shall only be issued to those who fulfil the eligibility criteria. Moreover, institute authorities shall not entertain any email requesting a duplicate admit card after the conduction of the entrance exam.
NIMCET is a national-level entrance exam conducted every year by the prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs). The exam is organised to admit students for the Master’s of Computer Application (MCA) course. Various other institutes across India also accept the NIMCET scores for the MCA admission process.
