NEST 2021 Registration Deadline Extended by 10 Days but Exam Not Postponed, Check New Admit Card Release Date Too

NEST 2021 examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 14, 2021 and candidates can now register themselves for the exam on the official website by May 10.

National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2021 registration date has now been extended by 10 days, candidates can now register themselves by May 10, 2021, on the official website i.e nestexam.in. Earlier the date to download the admit card was May 20, 2021, which too is now extended to May 30, 2021. The examination shall be conducted by the National Institute of Science, Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. As per the existing schedule, the exam is to be conducted on June 14, 2021.

NEST 2021 shall be conducted on June 14, 2021, across various centres in India. The exam shall be conducted in two sessions. The first session shall be held from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm while the second session shall be organised from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Candidates shall be assigned to one of the exam sessions to appear for the exam. Based on their performance in the screening test, separate merit lists shall be created for NISER and UM-DAE CEBS. Merit lists and exam result shall be released on June 30, 2021.

NEST 2021 is scheduled to be conducted through the computer-based format in allotted centres across the country. The question paper shall comprise of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and will be divided into four sections – Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics. Each of these sections shall be allotted 50 marks. Moreover, questions will be displayed only in the English language.

Candidates are instructed to attempt a minimum of 3 sections in the exam while the fourth section shall remain optional depending on the candidate’s choice. Based on this pattern, merit lists for both institutes shall be determined using the best three scored sections out of the total four sections. Section in which the candidate has scored the least number of marks shall not be considered. To qualify the exam, candidates are required to score the Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) prescribed by the concerned authorities.

NEST 2021 Admit card shall be made available for download on May 30, 2021. Candidates can download their admit card directly from the official website nestexam.in once the download link is made available on the website. To do so, they must log in to the website using the link available. They are to note that no separate admit card shall be issued to the candidate via post or any offline modes.

Aspirants must remember that the download link shall be available only till the examination date i.e., June 14, 2021. Candidates are requested to take a printout of their hall tickets well in advance. Moreover, they must maintain the condition of their admit cards till the admission process.
