The NEST 2021 application date has been extended by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS till July 15, 2021. Additionally, the date of the NEST exam has also been rescheduled to August 14, 2021. The candidates who have not yet applied for the entrance test can now apply for admission in the five-year Integrated MSc programme in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, at NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UM–DAE CEBS Mumbai. There are 200 seats available with NISER while a total of 57 seats are available with CEBS.
As per the official brochure, the candidates applying for this program should have completed their Class 11th and 12th with Science as a major subject in 2019 or 2020. Also, the Unreserved candidates should have scored at least 60% aggregate marks in the 10+2 exam while SC/ST should have scored 55% marks in the same. The candidates applying for the program should be born on or after August 1, 2021.
The candidates should visit the official website nestexam. in to fill the application form. Post this, they are required to click on Apply Online. Next, the candidates will be redirected to the application form page where they will be required to enter the Applicant’s name, Date of Birth, Class 10th Registration Number, Gender, Mobile Number, etc. Thereafter, the candidates can log in with the credentials and enter the educational details i.e. Class 10th, Class 12th marks.
On the next page, the candidates have to upload the scanned passport size image and signature. The size of the scanned document must not be less than 80 kb. In the end, the candidates need to pay the application fee i.e. Rs 1200 for the General category while Rs 600 for SC/ST via an online payment channel.
NEST 2021 will be held online in the computer-based form and the questions asked in the same will be MCQ in nature. The questions asked in the exam will be only in English and there will be four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, and each section will have 50 questions. The candidates will get 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the examination. As per the marking scheme, the candidates will get 1 marks for each correct answer while there will be no negative marking for the wrong answer.
The Minimum Admission Percentile for the general candidates is 95 percentile, 90 percentile for OBC candidate, and 75 percentile for SC/ST candidate.
