CSIR North East Institute of Science and Technology (NIEST), Jorhat has published the latest recruitment notification for 35 vacant positions. The vacancies are for posts such as Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Welder etc. The detailed notification is available at the official website of the Institute i.e. niest.res.in. NIEST has advertised vacancies for the posts of Electrician, Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance, Carpenter, Civil Engineer Assistant. Agro-Processing, Instrument Mechanic, Plumber, Welder (Fabrication & Fitting), Mechanic (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning), Electronics Mechanic, Computer Hardware & Network Maintenance, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Medical Lab. Technician (Clinical Pathology) and Lab Assistant (Chemical Plant).

Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. Candidates will receive a monthly payment of Rs 19900 at the aforementioned pay scale upon appointment.
NIEST Recruitment 2020 For 35 Vacancies Detailed Advertisement
Candidates intending to apply for the recruitment must comply with the post-specific minimum eligibility criteria. These are indicated in the advertisement in terms of the minimum essential qualification, experience and upper age limit. While the upper age limit is fixed for all posts, applicants must have post-specific minimum educational qualification and experience in order to apply. Relaxations on the upper age limit can be availed by candidates belonging to special reserved categories as per government norms in vogue. In general, candidates must have passed Class 10th and acquired relevant technical qualification (ITI) certificate in the respective fields) in order to apply.
All of the eligible applicants shortlisted by the Screening Committee are to be called for the Trade Test. Those who qualify the trade test have to appear in a Competitive Written Exam. The exam will consist of a MCQ type question paper carrying 150 questions which must be completed within 2 hours and 30 minutes. There are three papers based on Mental Ability Test, General Awareness & English Language and Concerned subject. An application fee of Rs 100 must be paid in the form of a Demand Draft drawn on any nationalized bank and valid for at least 3 months in favor of the Director, CSIR-NIEST, Jorhat, payable at Jorhat. Besides submitting the online application, a print out of the submitted application form must be sent to the Administrative Officer, CSIR NIEST, Jorhat 785006, Assam on or before the last date.
