Supreme Court has rejected the plea of postponement of the NEET-UG 2021 exam. The NEET Undergraduate exam is scheduled for September 12, 2021. As per the update, candidates who belong to the class 12th compartmental and distance category have filed a plea with the apex court for rescheduling the dates of NEET UG 2021. The reason put forward by the group was that this exam will be clashing with other exams.

A bench of three judges hearing the complete petition took the decision of rejecting the same. The bench commented that NEET-UG will be taken up by around 16 lakhs students and postponing it for a few students is not possible. It further ordered the NTA to go ahead with the prescribed schedule and conduct the entrance exam. The agency in a bid to calm the panic situation amongst the candidates notified that they can appear for the NEET UG 2021 exam on scheduled dates irrespective of their other exams. They further said that the candidates need to submit their results only during the counselling round.

The NEET-UG 2021 is conducted in offline mode for a duration of 3 hours in 13 languages. The exam will have questions from four subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each subject will have two sections, A and B, section A will have 35 questions and section B will have 15 questions. The candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for each wrong answer.
