NEET UG 2021 Exam Timing Same For All, But Reporting Time Different – Also Check Safety Guidelines

Candidates are instructed to follow the NEET 2021 exam time for reporting, entry, and exam as mentioned in their admit cards.

NEET UG 2021 Exam Timing

After a long wait, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) 2021 today, on September 12, 2021. The NEET 2021 examination will be conducted across the country from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities have taken extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of all candidates. To avoid overcrowding and breach of protocols, each candidate has been a specific time slot to report to the exam centre. Candidates are instructed to follow this time slot and get their document verification and frisking done at the venue.

The examination timings are from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. However the reporting time of each candidate has been mentioned in their respective admit cards. In order to have staggered entry, to have as much social distancing and as less crowding as possible, students have been given different reporting timings. To know one’s reporting time, check the entry ‘reporting / entry time at centre’ in the admit card.

The entrance exam will be conducted across 3,858 centres in the country for a duration of 3 hours. As per official reports, a record-breaking 16.14 lakh candidates have registered for NEET 2021 and are expected to appear for the exam and compete for a seat in a prestigious medical college. With such tough competition ahead, candidates must be filled with anxiety, pressure and tension. To help them gauge this pressure and come out strong, here are important instructions and tips for aspirants.

NEET 2021 important timings

Additionally, candidates must also make a note of the sequence of events during the NEET 2021 examination and their corresponding timings –

1:30 pm – Last entry into the exam centre.

1:15 pm onwards – Sitting in the examination hall or room.

1:30 pm to 1:45 pm – Announcement of instructions & checking of admit cards by invigilators.

1:45 pm – Distribution of test booklets by invigilators.

1:50 pm – Filling in the particulars in the test booklet.

2:00 pm – NEET 2021 exam begins.

5:00 pm – NEET 2021 exam ends.

COVID-19 guidelines to be followed for NEET 2021

Authorities have specified guidelines specific to the health and safety of students. This includes the guideline that candidates must carry a pair of gloves and a 50 ml hand sanitizer to the exam centre. Moreover, they must wear a mask at all times, even while sitting in the exam hall and giving the exam.

Candidates must make sure to maintain social-distancing protocols at all times by reaching the venue in accordance with the time mentioned in the NEET 2021 admit cards. This is to ensure that each candidate gets to appear for the much-awaited entrance exam without getting affected or falling sick.

Last-minute tips for NEET 2021

With just a few hours left for the NEET 2021 examination, here are some last-minute tips for candidates to follow so that their paper goes well –

Step 1: Avoid any last-minute studying or revising of chapters. Last-minute study never worked for anyone, even legends!

Step 2: Make sure to keep all the documents ready such as NEET 2021 Admit Card (hardcopy), passport-size photograph and a valid photo ID. This is to avoid any last-minute chaos.

Step 3: Get a goodnight’s sleep to remain well-rested and active throughout the 3-hour paper.

Step 4: Eat a healthy meal before the exam and avoid any junk, oily or heavy food before the exam. Discomfort in the stomach can affect a candidate’s mind.
