Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Sunday conducted a big meeting on the future of Boards Exam and JEE Main, NEET UG 221 exams. As per the resources, the entrance examination for JEE Main and NEET UG 2021 is likely to take place after June 01, 2021, as the Boards exam are postponed. No new dates for the same have been declared by NTA yet.
The JEE Main 2021 April and May Session exams have been postponed due to the second wave of coronavirus in the country. Other national level entrance examinations such as NEET PG 2021 and CLAT 2021 are also postponed owing to the same reason. NEET Undergraduate exam 2021 was scheduled to take place on August 01, 2021. Candidates are uncertain about the commencement of the exam considering the current situation.
A high-level meeting was conducted by the Education Minister on May 23, 2021 to discuss the Boards Examination 2021. It is expected that the exam date of the 12th Boards will be announced after June 01, 2021 after considering the suggestions from other state governments. It is speculated that after the announcement of 2021 Boards Exam date, the final decision regarding the NEET UG 2021 and JEE Main 2021 will be taken.
Moreover, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has said the Centre must vaccinate all the students first before holding JEE Main 2021 and NEET UG Exam 2021. There are 1.5 crore students and 1.5 crore teachers who should be vaccinated, he said. To this, he further adds that the Centre should speak to health experts first about whether they can use available vaccines on students who are 17.5 years old. The decision on this has not been announced yet.
Furthermore, JEE Main and NEET UG aspirants want the entrance exam to be postponed further. A Twitter user has said that the NEET UG exam should take place in October as they need time and a stress-free environment to study.

The Centre has suggested two options to the State boards to conduct the Boards examination. The first is to organize the board exam in three months- one month of pre-exam activities followed by two months for the exam and result declaration. Another 30 days can be used for compartment exams. Also, the exam will take place for major subjects and scores for minor subjects will be given on the basis of one’s performance in major subjects. The second option is to organize a 90 minutes exam where students have to appear for one language exam and three elective subjects.
