NEET 2020 Likely to be Held in Online Mode

As per the news reports, the NEET 2020 shall be conducted in the online mode. After the successful commencement of UGC NET 2018, the National Testing Agency is planning to conduct NEET 2020 in the Computer Based Mode. Earlier, the same was planned for NEET 2019 but due to some reasons, NTA changed its decision and followed the tradition of conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test in pen and paper-based mode. However, after UGC NET, the organization is intending to change NEET 2020 exam mode.

In UGC NET 2018, around 7.50 lakh candidates took part and NTA managed to conduct it in the online mode. The exam was held in 300 cities at 600 exam centres. Also, JEE Main 2019 is going to be conducted in online mode. In JEE Main 2019, around 9.50 lakh candidates have registered. So, NTA may conduct NEET 2020 in the online mode. However, there is no official information available regarding the mode of the exam. But the exam mode may be changed after the fortunate success of UGC NET 2018.

To register for NEET 2020, the aspirant must fulfill the eligibility criteria. The candidates must be 17 years old at the time of the admission. There is no upper age limit. The student must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination. They must have cleared the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English individually. In the qualifying examination, they must have at least 50% marks.

NTA has removed the number of attempts for the NEET aspirants. So, the interested candidates can appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test any number of times.

The application form for NEET 2020 is expected to be released in the month of November 2019. The desired candidates will be able to fill the application form in online mode only. There is no other mode to apply. The candidates will have to first register themselves by submitting the basic details. After that, they will get the application number and password to further login. Then the aspirants can submit the other required information and pay the application fee to complete the application form.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an entrance exam for the students who wish to take admission in graduate, post graduate medical courses or in dental courses such as MBBS, MD, MS, BDS, MDS. It is a national level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. NEET UG is one and only entrance exam which provides admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India.

I think neet should be held in offline mode that is pen paper mode, not because of tradition but there are many students from the interior region of India who don’t have access to internet ,neither know about the process….
