NEET 2019 Registration to start on November 1 at nta.ac.in

The final decision regarding NTA NEET 2019 is out. NEET 2019 will be held as a pen and paper based exam on May 5, 2019. It will be conducted only once for the academic session 2019-20. Medical aspirants can apply online as per the official schedule that was announced today.

A revised schedule for the exam is now available, as per which, NEET 2019 registration will start on November 1, 2018, and go on until November 30, 2018. This gives eligible candidates exactly one month window to fill the form and submit it with fee. The process shall also involve uploading of certain documents like photograph and signature. To aid the young students complete the process smoothly, NTA is likely to release a form filling guide.

NTA will activate the registration as well as login links at National Eligibility Entrance Test (medical entrance exam) page at nta.ac.in on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Candidates can register via those links. It is advisable that they keep documents ready before applying. The final schedule was published today at nta.ac.in as a press release.

Documents to keep ready for NEET 2019 Registration

Candidates will need to refer to their class 10 mark sheet, class 12 mark sheet (if available), aadhaar card. They will need these documents as the various details to be filled in the application form have to match these documents. For instance, the spelling of the name of the candidate as well as their guardians should be the same as in class 10 mark sheet. Similarly, the names of boards from which candidates are passing, or have passed 10+2 should be the same as in their certificates. Also, the marks entered in form should be the same.

The requirement of aadhaar card is also there for NEET 2019 registration. Details of candidates should match with the aadhaar card. Before the NEET 2019 application form begins at nta.ac.in, candidates should get their aadhaar cards by following the prescribed procedure. To get Aadhaar card, one needs to go to the enrolment centre and carry out the enrolment procedure.

Reserved category candidates who apply online for NEET 2019 should also ensure that they have category certificate. Although no one has to upload certificate at the time of filling the form, but, they have to present it at time of admission and counselling. Sometimes students are not sure about their category, or eligibility to get category certificate, and they apply from a wrong category. Therefore it is better to know the feasibility of getting category certificate and only then select that category in NEET 2019 registration.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019

MCI prescribed eligibility criteria is followed for NEET 2019. As per it, candidates should fulfil the age limit, educational qualification, nationality. It is the responsibility of test taker to check that they are eligible before applying. The National Testing Agency does not verify eligibility. That is done at the time of admission by counselling authorities. Therefore if ineligible candidates apply and even if they get NEET 2019 admit card, result, then also they will not get admission.

The first point of eligibility is the educational qualification. Physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, with mathematics or any elective subject, are compulsory. Candidates should have minimum qualifying marks in these subjects in aggregate given below.

The second criteria to be fulfilled is the age limit. Candidates should satisfy lower as well as upper age limits and only then they should fill the NEET 2019 application form.

All candidates who are Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, foreign nationals are eligible.

To conclude, NEET 2019 is around the corner and the dates for registration are officially confirmed. NEET 2019 registration is starting on November 1, 2018, and ending on November 30, 2018. Those who apply on time can download admit card from April 15, 2019. The new and final NEET 2019 exam date for the single day single session exam is May 5, 2019. NTA will announce NEET 2019 result on June 5, 2019.

On a related note, NTA is also conducting UGC NET December 2018, JEE Main I 2019, JEE Main II 2019, CMAT 2019, GPAT 2019. The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test will be the first test to be conducted by NTA, for which, registration is starting on Septmeber 1, 2018. JEE Main 2019 application form will also be available on the same date. The last date to register for both is September 30, 2018. However, in the case of JEE Main, there will be separate forms for JEE Main I and JEE Main II. The registration for JEE Main II shall start on February 8, 2019, and end on March 7, 2019.
