National Board of Education (NBE) is all set to release the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2021 rank and scorecard today, October 09, 2021. Authorities had already announced the entrance exam results on September 28, 2021, in the PDF format. Roll numbers and their corresponding scores were displayed in sequential manner. Today, candidates will receive their individual scorecards mentioning the obtained NEET PG 2021 rank. While NBE is going to release the scorecards, the Supreme Court of India has issued a plea directing the board to release the question paper and answer key for NEET PG 2021. At the same time, candidates must be allowed to request reevaluation or rechecking, in case of any discrepancy.
In the first week of October, authorities had issued a notice informing students about the NEET PG 2021 scorecards. Results had already been declared 3 days prior on the official website natboard.edu.in. Students could also check their results on another official portal nbe.edu.in. Using this score, students could seek admission for PG courses like MD, MS, PG Diploma, NBEMS Diploma, Post MBBS Diploma, to name a few. Of course admission will be based on merit, number of seats available and reservation policy, issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
The notice also specified that individual scorecards will be made available today on the official portal. Authorities will not be sending any scorecard through the offline mode. This scorecard will supposedly provide three crucial details – 1. Score obtained in the entrance exam, 2. Rank acquired through the tie-breaking criteria and, 3. Total number of correct and incorrect responses. Candidates are advised to download or take a printout of the scorecards for future reference.
While scorecards are all set to release, NBE has received a plea issued by the Supreme Court of India. This was in response to the petition filed by doctors stating that around 16 lakh candidates sit for the entrance exam. Out of which, less than 1% get selected for PG courses. NBE is following a completely different system whereby doctors are not allowed to keep their question papers. Board authorities are not releasing a copy of the OMR sheets or the NEET PG 2021 answer key. Results are directly being announced without providing any information about the correct answers.
After petitioners and NBE authorities expressed their views, the apex court decided on issuing a plea to the board, compelling them to release the question paper and answer key. The option of reevaluation must also be given to those who appeared for the exam.
