The States Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has released the exam schedule for MAH LLB 3-years CET and MAH LLB 5-years CET 2020. The entrance exam is going to be conducted on April 12, 2020, for MAH LL.B-5 yrs CET 2020 and on June 28, 2020, for MAH LL.B-3 yrs CET 2020. The schedule has been released online at cetcell.mahacet.org and it can also be checked in the selected Leading Newspapers in English & Marathi.
The online registration is going to start from January 20, 2020, for MAH LL.B-5 yrs CET 2020 and MAH LL.B-3 yrs CET 2020, the application form will release on March 19, 2020.
For the candidates belong to the remote areas, the CET Cell is going to set up SETU Centres for assisting the Candidates in online form filling and document uploading at every district place. The list of these centres will be uploaded on the CET and Admission portal as well as on the CET Website for the academic session 2020-2021.
Those who belong to Maharashtra State and acquire the Qualifying examination for the Course from the State of Maharashtra and belong to Backward class category like SC, ST, DT, VJ, NT1, NT2, NT3, OBC, SBC, SEBC should obtain Caste Validity Certificate (and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate as per the requirement) from the Competent Authority before the Commencement of the online admission process of CETs.
Candidates who belong to Maharashtra or other states can apply for Maharashtra Law entrance test. For LLB-5 yrs CET, candidates must have passed +2 or its equivalent, whereas, for admission in LLB 3-yrs programme, the aspirants should be a graduate in any faculty of law.
As per last year’s brochure, for LLB CET 5-yrs, the candidates must have obtained minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for Open Category candidates and 40% marks for All India Candidates (outside Maharashtra candidates), which means candidates belonging to SC and ST category from the State of Maharashtra and 42% marks in case of VJNT, SBC, OBC category candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra. The minimum marks in the qualifying exam are also applicable for LLB 3-yrs admission. There is no upper age limit for admission to LLB 3 yrs and 5 yrs CET.
The application process shall be the same for both these courses. Candidates will have to first register online at mahacet.org by providing their name, contact details, email id, etc. Once registration is done, students will get their registration number and password for the login. In the next step, candidates have to provide other information like personal details, communication details, educational qualification details, etc and upload the necessary images as per the specification and format. Lastly, candidates need to pay the required amount of the application fee by online mode.
Last year, a total of 44,431 number of candidates registered of the LLB 3-yrs CET, out of which 36, 513 number of candidates appeared for the test. From these many candidates, 36, 498 obtained an eligible score, 133 scored highest marks in CET, and 15 candidates scored zero marks in the entrance exam.
The hall ticket for MAH LLB 5 yrs CET 2020 will be issued to the registered candidates on March 27, 2020, and on June 05 2020 for LLb 3-yr CET. The entrance exam is going to be conducted in online mode only. Qualifiers in the entrance test are offered admission in the Law programme in the Government, Govt. Aided, Govt. Aided Minority, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided & Unaided Minority Institutions in the Maharashtra State.
