Life Insurance Corporation is recruiting candidates to 590 vacant positions in the post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO). The first stage of LIC AAO Recruitment is preliminary exam, of which, the first day was today and tomorrow, May 5, 2019, will be second and final day. On both days the exam is taking place in two shifts. Here is the LIC AAO Prelims Analysis 2019 of Day 1 for both shifts. Result of LIC AAO 2019 is expected to be out by end of this month.

Today the LIC AAO 2019 exam was deemed to be between easy to moderate level. Candidates faced a computer based test with three sections namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The sections appeared in this order. They had 30, 35, and 35 questions respectively. Each section had to be attempted in only 20 minutes so speed was of essence.

Minimum qualifying marks English is 9 for SC/ST and 10 for others. It is 16 for SC/ST and 18 for others for each of the other two sections. English is only qualifying in nature and its marks wont be added to final merit listing.

Good Attempts

The number of attempts which have high chances of leading to qualification are referred to as good attempts in terms of LIC AAO analysis. Good attempts in English will be around 15, in Quant it is between 17 to 22, and in Reasoning it is between 27 to 32. As can be seen, the reasoning section was most scoring considering the time constraint.

English Language – Analysis and Memory Based Questions

It was a relatively easy section with 7 questions on reading comprehension. 2 questions under RC were on vocabulary. Interestingly, in one shift, the reading comprehension passage was on Artificial Intelligence in Insurance Sector. Then there were 5 questions each on error detection, cloze test, sentence error detection, sentence arrangement. Around 3 questions were on word usage. Cloze test, spelling and grammar error finding, sentence error finding were easiest.

Quantitative Aptitude – Analysis and Memory Based Questions

Overall this section was moderate, but more difficult that the other two sections. It had 11 questions on data interpretation, 5 on missing number series, 6 on approximation, 13 on arithmetic word problems such as profit and loss, age problem, probability, SI and CI. There were two sets of data to be interpreted, one on bar chart, and one on pie chart and tabular DI each in each shift. The questions on number series were tougher than the rest.

Reasoning Ability – Analysis and Memory Based Questions

This section was also easy. Only the 4 sets of puzzle and seating arrangement were not very easy. There were 20 questions on puzzle and seating arrangements. One of the questions was based on linear seating arrangement with 10 people, all facing north. Then one was a month based puzzle having components on 3 months, 2 dates, 6 teachers. Then there was circular seating arrangement question with 9 people all facing inside. And there was a miscellaneous puzzle with 7 people buying 7 items one by one.

As many number of candidates that appeared for the LIC AAO Prelims 2019 today, are lined up for the exam tomorrow. With the prelims getting over after that, wait for result shall begin. However LIC usually does not take too long to announce results.

However the race for LIC AAO Recruitment 2019 does not end here; there will be a main exam also after that for the qualified candidates. Qualified candidates will be able to download LIC AAO Main Admit Card 2019 in May/June. It is advised to all candidates to start preparing for that as LIC AAO Main Exam is on June 28, 2019, and only 85 days are left for it.
