KVPY 2019 Result declared at kvpy.iisc.ernet.in; 4068 Candidates qualified

KVPY 2019 Result

Indian Institute of Science has announced the result of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2019 today, on December 11, 2019. IISc has published the provisional list of candidates who have qualified in streams SA, SB, SX, and also published the cut offs. KVPY had been held on November 3, 2019.

To check the result, students need to go to kvpy.iisc.ernet.in which is the official website of the exam. Then, click the link provided against the message “the provisional list of students qualified  in the Aptitude Test held on 3rd November 2019”.

KVPY 2019 result has been published in the form of 6 pdf files. There are three lists category wise – GN and OBC, S/ST, PWD for each of the three streams – SA, SB, SX.

Each list contains the application numbers, names, roll numbers of qualified candidates. Other than this, there is no provision to check individual scores per se.

A total of 1,613 candidates have been shortlisted in general and OBC categories under SA stream, 187 from SC/ST, and 8 PWD of the same stream. Thus 1,808 candidate have qualified from stream SA, that was for students in class 11th.

KVPY 2019 cut off for SA stream are respectively 44, 32, and 32 marks out of 100 for general and OBC, SC/ST, PWD candidates. Last year the cut off scores were 45, 32, 32.

Under the SB stream which is for students in the 1st year of undergraduate programs, 167 students have qualified from general and OBC categories, 24 from SC/ST, and 1 from PWD. Total count of qualified candidates in this stream is 192.

Here the respective cut offs for general and OBC, SC/ST, PWD are 49, 33, and 33. These cut offs were 43, 30, 30 last year. 

SX stream is for students of class 12th. Maximum participation is usually observed in this stream. Here, 1,860 candidates have qualified from general and OBC categories, 204 from SC/ST, and 4 from PWD. Overall 2,068 cleared the KVPY Aptitude Test 2019 from SX stream. 

In this stream the KVPY cut offs are 59, 43, and 43 respectively for general and OBC, SC/ST, PWD candidates. The cut off scores were 53, 40, 40 last time. 

Candidates who have qualified as per the KVPY Aptitude Test 2019, can attend the interview process that will follow. As of now, IISc has planned to hold interviews from January 15 to February 25, 2020. However the exact date, time, venue of these will be updated in some time by IISc to shortlisted candidates, by email and KVPY website.

KVPY 2019 was announced in July. Application form submission was done from July 8 to August 31. Admit cards were released on October 7. After conducting the exam, IISc released the answer keys on November 7. Now a little over one month after exam, the results are out. 

The next Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, KVPY 2020, is looked forward to be announced in June or July of 2020. Students can then apply for their respective streams SA, SB, SX for the next exam.
