KL Deemed to be University, Andhra Pradesh, has recently received the ‘One District One Green Champion, Swachhta Award 2021 From GOI. KLU has been awarded this prestigious award after being judged against various parameters like hygiene, cleanliness, usage of green & renewable energy, waste management, the green campus drive, besides observing post COVID-19 precautions and maintaining other social distancing norms.
The award is given to the educational institutes for outstanding contribution to the Swachh Bharat initiative by the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education of the Government of India.

Before this, KL University Campus has been awarded 1 St Rank under Universities (Private) Category at AP Green Awards announced by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh 2018 and “Most Clean Campus in South Central Region ‘by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) – Clean Campus Awards 2017.’
Founded in 1980 as KL College of Engineering. It became Deemed to be University in 2009 and was accredited by NAAC with A++ grade and Category- I Institution by UGC, MHRD, Govt. of India in 2019. It is ranked 41st in the NIRF 2020 rankings of top Universities of India.
The University is situated in a spacious 100-acre campus in Vijayawada, with a built-up area of over 20,00,000 Sq Ft., and has another world-class campus in Hyderabad. The University boasts of its collaborations with 64 foreign Universities across 16 countries providing students international exposure through internships and exchange programs. The University has 1,400+ faculty members, out of which 700+ faculty members are Ph.D. holders. The University also has an impeccable placement track record of placing 20,000 students in reputed 2,500 companies so far.
