Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has released the Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2021 application form along with the e-brochure. Aspiring diploma students can fill the form on the official website, kea.kar.nic.in. The application form was released at 3 PM. One should check eligibility before filling the form.
While, the last date to pay the application fee is September 13, 2021, and the candidates can make corrections in the application from September 15 to September 17, 2021. The online exam is going to be held on October 23, 2021, from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. Prior to the exam, applicants can download the admit card from October 11, 2021, onwards.
DCET or Diploma CET 2021 is an entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority annually to provide admission to the 2nd Year of the Engineering Courses under the Lateral Entry Scheme or the first year of the Architecture courses for both Day and Evening Colleges to eligible Candidates in Karnataka.
As per the DCET 2021 official brochure, released by the KEA the candidates need to furnish certain documents while filling the application form. The applicants can check out the list below to avoid missing out anything while filling the application form:
- Scanned copies of the candidate’s photograph and signature within the size limit of 5KB to 40KB.
- The dimension of the candidate’s image should be in the dimension range of 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm only.
- The dimension of the scanned signature should be in the range of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm.
The Karnataka DCET 2021 exam will be held in pen and paper mode and the questions asked will be in a multiple-choice based pattern. The questions will be asked from Applied Mathematics, Applied Science and Engineering Paper. The candidates need to answer 40 questions each from Applied Mathematics and Applied Science section. While the Engineering paper will have 100 questions accounting for 100 marks. Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark and there will be no deduction for a wrong answer. The candidates will get 3 hours to complete the test and additional 25 minutes will be provided to fill the OMR sheet with relevant details.

Step 1: The candidates should begin by visiting the official portal of KEA i.e. kea.kar.nic.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, the candidates need to click on the New User-Click here to Register.
Step 3: Thereafter, the candidates need to enter the Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name and Date of Birth, valid contact Mobile phone number, valid Email-ID and then click on the Register button.
Step 4: After this, they need to login on to the dashboard with user-id, password and security code.
Step 5: On the application form the candidates need to mention their personal details i.e. gender, nationality, religion, category, permanent and correspondence address, Candidate’s roll number, passing year and subject and percentage scored in Class 10th and 12th exam.
Step 6: Post this, candidates need to upload their signature and photograph within the prescribed limit and click on the self-declaration option.
Step 7: Once all the details are entered, the candidate is required to pay the application fee using Debit/Credit or Net banking.
The application fee for the General/OBC candidates is Rs 650 while the same for SC/ST category is Rs 500.
